Hogwarts Homecoming

Chapter 1049 The forgotten point

"Merlin's beard."

Ron bent over and gasped loudly. He looked at the direction they came from. The trees no longer broke inexplicably, and the soft layer of dead leaves on the ground no longer dented suddenly.

This shows that they finally escaped the pursuit of those monsters.

As if he was about to vomit his heart out, Ron kept retching, and Harry, who was stronger in physical strength, walked over, patted Ron on the back, and cast a horrified look at Hermione.

"What the hell are thestrals, Hermione, and why can't you and Ron see them!"

Hermione was holding on to a beech tree. Her brown hair was stuck to the sweat on her cheeks. Because she had run too fast just now, her face was scratched with several blood marks by the wildly growing branches. Drops of bright red blood flowed down her face. The side of his face slipped,

"Because neither Ron nor I have seen death--"

Hermione wiped her face, which made her look even more embarrassed. She looked back at Harry, knowing that he didn't understand. She tried hard to calm down her disordered breathing, and continued,

"The Thestral is a mysterious creature that can only be seen by those who have seen death, Harry."

"Have seen death."

Harry repeated slightly confused, and then suddenly remembered the cemetery where Voldemort was resurrected, Karkaroff who was shattered to pieces by dozens of Cruciatus Curses, and Barty Crouch who committed suicide tragically.

Then, Harry understood that when Karkaroff and Barty Sr. died, Hermione and Ron were in comas, so only he could see the Thestrals.

"--Tamed Thestrals are excellent mounts. They are very docile and have an excellent sense of direction. Just tell them your destination and they can take you wherever it is."

"docile?!"

Ron screamed,

"These monsters just tried to kill us!"

"I told you, Ron, it's a tamed Thestral," Hermione said angrily,

"What we just encountered was wild!"

The three people sat slumped under the beech tree again, with wet dead leaves under their butts, and the surveillance cameras above their heads were still stubbornly following them, but they had no intention of caring about their own image on the screen.

"I really hope it's not just us."

Ron glared at the surveillance camera hovering above them with hatred, as if he wanted to accuse Professor Blaine through the camera.

All around were overgrown vines and large shrubs.

Although it hadn't been more than three hours since he got up, the 'thrilling' adventures in the past half hour had already made Harry tired enough. He flattened his bent legs and looked at his muddy shoes. He was deeply grateful that his shoes had not escaped during his galloping just now.

Wait, half an hour?

Harry's droopy eyelids immediately opened wide, but before he could remind him, Hermione had already taken action.

She curled up her legs with great effort and pulled out the blackboard map that was tightly stuffed in her pocket.

The map was still as it had just been taken over from Professor Brain, without any changes.

"Oh, how long have we been running, Harry!"

Hermione grabbed Harry's wrist, wiped off the muddy water on the watch given to Harry by Professor Blaine, checked the time, and screamed,

"We didn't miss anything, did we?"

Ron also immediately stretched his head over, and the three heads crowded together to confirm the time.

When he just walked out of the dark passage, Harry checked the time once. Now, the minutes crossed a little more than two large divisions on the dial.

"Half an hour. Oh, there should be two or three minutes left. I think we haven't missed it."

Harry was also frightened and confused. The time for position marking is only half a minute, and if they miss it, it can be very fatal.

As a result, the three people did not dare to look away from the blackboard for a moment.

When she was concentrating, the forest was eerily quiet. Hermione could hear the heartbeats and breathing of the three of them, as well as the sound of seconds crossing the dial on Harry's watch.

"Speaking of -"

The small dial reflected three pale, sweaty faces. Ron suddenly wanted to say something, but before he could say anything, he was forced back by Hermione's stern gaze.

Suddenly, the blackboard with some transparent green lines on it lit up!

When the fluorescent light illuminated the faces of the three people, the three nervous people subconsciously held their breath.

Four bright spots appeared on the blackboard, three of them were blue and only one was red.

Hermione immediately figured out that the red highlight with a small arrow probably represented them.

She jumped up from the ground, holding the blackboard map in her hands and spinning in circles. The arrows connected to the red dots representing them on the map also rotated in place.

All three people realized that the arrow was pointing in the direction the person holding the map was facing.

"This thing is very useful when you get lost!"

Ron smiled hoarsely, but neither Harry nor Hermione spoke. Instead, they pursed their lips tightly and still stared at the map intently, seemingly nervous.

Coincidentally, their location was right near the middle of the map, and the blue dot closest to them on the map was only two squares away from them.

The other two bright spots are much further away. One is in the upper left corner and the other is in the upper right corner. They are almost at the border of the map and are about ten distances away from them.

"How much distance does one grid represent?"

Harry's eyes were fixed on the bright spot closest to them, and he keenly grasped the key to the problem.

"have no idea--"

The sudden rising sense of crisis caused Hermione to lower her voice.

"We can only find and explore this on our own!"

Ron stared nervously at the unpredictable forest ahead, as if the enemy might jump out at any time from behind the trees that were swaying slightly in the wind.

Harry also raised his wand and looked at the shadowy black figures hanging from the branches, as if they might attack at any time.

Thirty seconds passed in a flash, the four bright spots disappeared, and the blackboard fell silent.

The three people's eyes met again, and Harry looked at Hermione cautiously.

"Whoever they are, we have to go and see them, don't we?"

Harry said, and immediately added,

"They'll come to us too."

It goes without saying that according to the rules, only the one with the most school badges can win. If the four teams want to be invincible, they must have at least two school badges in their hands. If they have three, then they will A sure win.

"We have to act differently, Harry, Ron--"

After immersing herself in the game, Hermione found some of the calmness and determination she had in the last thrilling moment when she faced the fire dragon for the first time.

"The next step will be an encounter. The environment in the forest is very complicated. If the other party discovers us first, we will be very passive, so we have to hide our whereabouts."

"If we had an invisibility cloak."

Harry let out a heavy breath and said rather unwillingly.

"I can use the Disillusionment Charm,"

Hermione said,

"I'm really grateful that I learned this magic before the game. But I don't rule out that other teams will also use this magic. At least, Cedric will definitely do it. This is something you will learn in the sixth grade spells class, so we still have to- -"

"Hey!"

Ron suddenly interrupted Hermione's focused analysis. When Harry and Hermione's eyes focused on his face, he frowned and said,

"Don't you feel something is wrong?"

Something is wrong.

Harry and Ron looked at each other, and Hermione asked cautiously,

"What do you mean, Ron?"

"That firework."

Ron suppressed his breathing and looked into the eyes of Harry and Hermione.

"You all saw it. This means someone has given up, right? But why are there still four teams on the map?"

Harry and Hermione's brows were condensed, while Ron swallowed the smear and continued to stare wide-eyed.

"Besides, haven't you noticed that we have overlooked something?"

Something was overlooked.

Harry blinked and suddenly understood, and Hermione beside him also exclaimed,

"You mean"

"Those classmates in gym class."

Ron said in a serious tone,

"Professor Brain did not explain why they were in the Forbidden Forest."
