Hogwarts: I am Voldemort
Chapter 349 Dumbledore in action
"Knock, knock, knock."
There was a knock on the study door, and Voldemort looked at the door suspiciously, wondering who would be looking for him at this time.
"Master, do you need me to avoid it?" August asked.
"Just put your hat on, August."
Voldemort whispered to him, and then loudly told people outside the door to come in.
"Creak."
The door opened and Lucius walked in.
He did not look at the hooded August, but looked directly at Voldemort and said: "Dark Lord, there is news from the school that Harry went to the principal's office again and disappeared with the principal."
Voldemort raised his eyebrows, then nodded and said: "Continue to pay attention, and also pay attention to the surveillance there."
"yes."
After Lucius bowed in response, he turned and left without hesitation.
…
"Whoosh."
After a period of spinning, Harry, who followed Dumbledore's entourage, finally regained his footing.
He breathed in the fresh, salty air in the refreshing darkness.
Harry knew it was the smell of the sea, and he could hear the crashing waves.
And when he recovered better, he could see the sea under the moonlight and the starry night sky in the distance.
"What do you think?" Dumbledore asked.
"The teacher from Wu's Orphanage brought the students here?"
Harry said nonchalantly, while scanning the environment behind him.
It was a cliff. The steep rock wall dropped straight down, and it was so dark that it was difficult to see the face.
Several large rocks, like the one Harry and Dumbledore were standing on, appeared to have fallen from the cliff at some time in the past.
It was bare and desolate all around. Apart from the vast sea and rocks, there was not a single tree, grass or beach in sight.
This made Harry wonder what the teachers at Wu's Orphanage could do with bringing children here.
"To be precise, it's not here." Dumbledore pointed behind him. "Halfway down the mountainside from here, there is a place that can barely be called a village. They were taken there."
Harry nodded, finding this answer acceptable.
After all, no matter how small the village is, it is better than this bare place.
"Let's go, Harry, our target is farther away."
Dumbledore said, motioning Harry to walk along the edge of the rock, stepping on the jagged cracks, towards a giant pebble in the distance.
"Lumos!"
When the two of them carefully arrived at the pebbles, Dumbledore waved his wand.
"Did you see it?"
Dumbledore raised his wand higher, allowing Harry to see a gap in the cliff and the dark, swirling water in the gap.
Harry nodded, somewhat confused as to what the principal meant.
"You don't mind getting wet, do you?"
"It's okay," Harry said.
"Then take off your invisibility cloak - there's no need to wear it now - and let's take our chances."
Dumbledore suddenly became as agile as a young man. He slid gently from the pebble into the sea and swam towards the dark gap on the rock surface.
Harry followed, took off his Invisibility Cloak, stuffed it into his pocket, and then jumped into the water as well.
The sea water was extremely cold and instantly soaked through his clothes, making it bulge and heavy, dragging him downwards.
Harry was not frightened by this turn of events. He was as calm as Dumbledore, using breaststroke to move forward, chasing the light spot on Dumbledore's wand.
Not long after, he swam to the dark water within sight.
He guessed that if the tide was high, the tunnel would be filled with water, but it certainly wasn't today.
Dumbledore did not stop here, Harry could only continue to move forward.
His fingers, which were numb from the cold, would occasionally scratch against rough, wet rocks, but the numbness prevented him from feeling any pain.
After swimming forward for a moment, Harry saw Dumbledore standing up from the water in front of him, and he hurriedly accelerated forward.
really.
Soon the water became shallower and he began to wade forward like Dumbledore.
Finally, the two came to the center of the cave hidden in the gap in the sea. Dumbledore held his wand high and rotated in place to observe the rock walls and cave ceiling.
"Yes, this is the place." Dumbledore said firmly.
"How do you know?" Harry asked doubtfully.
"It's seen magic."
Dumbledore said briefly, but then he was worried that what he said was not detailed enough, so he explained again.
"Magic always leaves traces. I used to like to see the marks left by magic, but now I like to sense ripples, and the effect will be better."
Harry nodded, he understood what Dumbledore meant.
In fact, he now has an in-depth study of Botu.
At Snape's urging, of course.
He looked at Dumbledore and found that he was slowly spinning on the spot, obviously studying something that Harry couldn't see.
"This is just the vestibule, the entrance hall."
Dumbledore murmured to himself, "We need to get inside... What's blocking us now is the trap set up by Voldemort, not the barrier of nature..."
As he spoke, he walked towards the cave wall and touched it with his somewhat stiff right hand.
When Dumbledore's hand touched the cave wall, he spoke something in a language that Harry could not understand, and then walked around the cave wall twice more.
After busying up and down like this for a while, Dumbledore finally stopped.
"This is it." He said happily, "A very hidden entrance, very clever technique."
Harry touched his nose with his hand and recalled what Snape had told him about how to find magic traps.
Compared with the knowledge that Snape taught him, what Dumbledore was doing now was too advanced for him to understand.
"Did it succeed?"
Harry asked softly, as if he was afraid of disturbing Dumbledore.
"certainly."
Dumbledore turned to him and smiled, then noticed Harry shivering.
"Oh, sorry, Harry, I forgot."
As he spoke, he took out his wand and pointed it at Harry, and Harry's clothes instantly became clean and warm, as if they had been hung in front of a roaring fire.
"Thank you." Harry said gratefully.
Dumbledore smiled, looked back at the cliff again, and took out a silver dagger.
"What are you going to do, Headmaster?" Harry asked in surprise.
"Open the door, Harry, this is the price you must pay." Dumbledore said.
"The price?" Harry asked doubtfully, "What price?"
"If I'm not mistaken..."
As Dumbledore spoke, he raised his right hand and shook his sleeve to expose his wrist, "It should be blood."
"Blood?" Harry repeated loudly.
"Yes, Harry, but you don't have to be surprised. In my opinion... this is a very low price to pay."
Dumbledore smiled and reassured him, and then the dagger landed on his right arm without hesitation.
Blood spurted out and sprinkled onto the dark and damp cliff.
"He just wanted to weaken me before I entered, but this only proves that Voldemort once again failed to understand that there are many things more terrible than physical harm."
Dumbledore said as he let blood spill to other parts of the rock wall, "Of course, that was just who he was before. Maybe he has changed now."
And as he said these words, a dazzling white arch appeared on the cave wall.
The blood-stained rock in the arch began to slowly disappear, slowly revealing a dark doorway.
"Come with me."
Dumbledore waved his wand, causing it to light up again.
