Hogwarts: I, Tom, am really not Voldemort!
#24 - Chapter 24: Battle of Hogwarts
“Harry Potter is dead, hee hee hee!”
Voldemort's demonic laughter echoed across the battlefield, and a wave of sorrow washed over the people of Hogwarts.
“Now, make your choice, submit to me, or die here.”
Amidst the Death Eaters' wild laughter, Voldemort looked down upon the people of Hogwarts. Lucius even reached out to beckon Draco forward.
Just then, in the empty space between the opposing sides, an orange vortex, just large enough for one person to pass through, suddenly appeared.
A clear, youthful voice emerged from the vortex: “Tom, celebrating victory prematurely is not a good habit. This game isn't over yet. And your current laughter is really unpleasant.”
Amidst the gazes of everyone present, Tom stepped out of the vortex, facing Voldemort directly.
The two stood facing each other, and Voldemort was immediately stunned.
He had almost forgotten his once handsome appearance. Now, facing Tom, it was as if he were seeing himself as an eleven-year-old, just entering school.
Voldemort, for once, didn't immediately resort to Avada Kedavra, but patiently asked: “Who are you?”
Tom chuckled and once again employed the diary's pretentious tactic, using his wand to write his golden name in the air:
【Tom Marvolo Riddle】
Then, he rearranged the letters to form:
【I am Lord Voldemort】
“I am your past, present, and future.” Tom's voice was soft, yet it was like a whisper, clearly reaching the ears of everyone present.
Now, not only Voldemort but also the opposing sides were stunned, watching in disbelief as two 'Voldemorts' stood opposite each other.
“Liar!” Voldemort was the first to recover, roaring in a deep voice.
He knew his own situation well. Now that his Horcruxes were reduced to Nagini by his side, the person before him could not possibly be himself.
“Why are you so sure it can't be real?”
Listening to Tom's question, Voldemort commanded Nagini beside him: “Hiss hiss hiss… (Kill him.)”
As Nagini prepared to attack, Tom also uttered a hissing sound: “Hiss hiss… (Go back.)”
Nagini suddenly seemed confused, its massive snake head turning towards Voldemort.
“Hiss hiss… (Come back.)” Facing Nagini's confusion, Voldemort called it back, staring at Tom with a gloomy expression.
“Parseltongue, who exactly are you?”
“I told you, I am you, but you don't believe it.” Tom gazed calmly at Voldemort, showing not a trace of unusual emotion.
Hearing the familiar words, Voldemort's expression shifted slightly, and he extended an invitation to Tom: “If you are truly me, why not join my side? If we join forces, nothing in this world can stop us.”
Tom looked at Voldemort amusingly: “Do you think that's possible? Only one Voldemort is enough in this world.”
Calculating the time, he said to Voldemort: “Moreover, as a failure, you couldn't handle an infant back then, and now you still can't handle Harry Potter. How can you be called Voldemort?”
“Harry Potter is dead!” Voldemort shouted in disbelief, his defenses crumbling.
As if to deliberately slap him in the face, just as Voldemort shouted those words, Harry leaped up from Hagrid's arms.
Voldemort instinctively wanted to attack Harry, but he heard a voice in his ear, “Avada Kedavra!” The familiar green light rushed towards him, and he hurriedly retaliated with an Avada.
The two green lights intertwined in the air, canceling each other out, and finally dissipated together.
Tom and Voldemort's exchange seemed to be a signal, and the people of Hogwarts and the Death Eaters on the scene all cast spells at each other, and the scene fell into chaos.
This attack also allowed Tom to test Voldemort's strength. Compared to himself, Voldemort's magic power and spell power were almost one level stronger than his own. It's just that now he is holding the Elder Wand and cannot exert all his strength.
‘As expected, my guess was correct. Fortunately, I temporarily decided to impersonate Voldemort to delay a lot of time, otherwise I would not be able to withstand Voldemort for an hour.’
Tom sighed at his own brilliance while waving his wand, and the blue Fiendfyre turned into a giant snake and attacked Voldemort. Voldemort was quick-witted and quick-handed, and also cast the Fiendfyre Curse, and the orange-red Fiendfyre also turned into a giant snake, entangled with Tom's blue Fiendfyre giant snake.
While the two giant snakes were entangled, Voldemort sent another Killing Curse towards Tom. Tom waved his wand, quickly enlarging the stones on the ground and throwing them towards the green light.
The boulder resisted the Killing Curse and then shattered, and Tom took advantage of the situation to launch a barrage of spells, and the stones shot towards Voldemort, interfering with his actions, while the stones vaguely mixed with a green light.
Voldemort steadily caught Tom's counterattack, and returned with an even more powerful spell.
Complex spells flew between the two, and the battle became more and more intense. Tom relied on his familiarity with Voldemort to barely fight him back and forth.
‘No, if this continues, defeat and death will be a matter of time.’ Tom looked at the countdown of 35 minutes in the void, and his thoughts turned wildly.
Not only Tom was thinking of a way, but Voldemort's mind was mostly on Harry, who had run far away, and Nagini, who was chasing after him. A vague ominous premonition surged in his heart. Finding that he couldn't solve Tom in a short time, he couldn't help but take the lead in compromising with Tom: “How about stopping temporarily and solving Harry Potter first, so as not to let others benefit?”
Tom, who thought that Voldemort would fight him to the death, glanced at him across the Fiendfyre. Seeing that he rarely had the brains to say such a thing, he resisted and replied: “Okay, stop temporarily and solve Harry Potter first. How about we count to three and stop at the same time?”
“Okay!” Voldemort agreed to Tom's suggestion.
“3!”
“2!”
“1!”
At the moment when the countdown ended, Voldemort and Tom simultaneously threw a Killing Curse at each other.
The two green lights collided and dissipated in the air again, and Tom took the opportunity to retreat, and taunted Voldemort: “See, Tom, we are one person after all, no one in this world knows you better than me. So, see you.”
After speaking, Tom quickly escaped with the help of the ruins and the chaotic crowd in the battlefield.
After putting a Disillusionment Charm on himself, he found that Voldemort had not chased him. Tom found a quiet corner to breathe, and silently calculated in his heart.
‘There are still 25 minutes left, I don't know if this madman Voldemort will kill me again. Passive hiding is not my style, I still have to look for opportunities and take the initiative to attack.’
After calming down his breathing, Tom got up again and stepped into the battlefield, and this time he wanted to verify his guess, and the target was Voldemort's last Horcrux—Nagini!
