Hogwarts: Storm Chaser
Chapter 10: Excessive Plot Before Sorting
"Ralph, you are very suitable to be a professor."
"Yeah?"
"Look, haven't we all learned it?"
"Forget it then." Looking at their staggering appearance, Ralph said, if his students were like this, he would probably be angry to death, knowing that he had already used [Sound into the Heart] to increase their learning.
It worked.
Ralph glanced out the car window and saw that it was already dark.
Under the deep purple sky, there are mountains and pine forests. The fragrance of pine trees comes from far and near, lingering on the tip of Ralph's nose, sniffing it carefully, as if teasing him.
"Kuang Ci~Kuang Ci~", the speed of the train began to slow down.
"It's probably almost time. Let's put on our robes first." Ralph reminded.
Everyone took off their coats and put on close-fitting robes. Looking at each other, they couldn't help but feel that the Hogwarts uniforms are really good. Not to mention the quality, at least they look good.
"The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train and we will take you to school." This voice echoed on the train.
They stood up, everyone except Ralph was a little nervous.
They stuffed the remaining snacks back and followed the large group forward.
The train slowed down and finally stopped.
The little wizards were pushing and shoving, and they rushed to the car door and came to a simple platform.
The coldness of the night made Claude shiver, and Rock stepped forward and got closer to him.
Then a light swung above the students' heads, and a rough voice shouted: "Freshmen! Freshmen come over here!"
Seeing the arrival of another new class of students, Hagrid's huge and hairy face showed a heartfelt smile.
"Come on, follow me. Are there any freshmen? Watch your step, okay! Freshmen, come with me!"
They followed Hagrid, bumping and bumping along the way. It was very difficult, and they seemed to be going downhill along a steep and narrow path.
It was dark on both sides of the path, and no one spoke.
There were only a few little wizards who were afraid of the cold, sniffing once or twice. Claude was among them.
"As you turn this corner, you will soon see Hogwarts for the first time." Hagrid called back.
A loud and inexplicable sound sounded, scaring many timid freshmen.
A black lake suddenly opened up at the end of the narrow path.
On the lake, wooden boats came one after another from the darkness.
"The cry just now should be calling these boats." Crowder sniffed and continued: "The sound just now should be for us to experience the journey before the Big Four established Hogwarts."
"You know so much, Claude." Hansen exaggerated.
"There are some records in school history. If I guess correctly, a small boat should only be able to seat 4 people. Thank you, Ralph." Claude took the tissue from Ralph and wiped his nose.
[To be honest, I have been using Yeguo to read and catch up on books recently. I can switch sources and read aloud with many sounds. www. Android and Apple are available.]
"You're welcome, why don't you bring tissues with you?" Ralph asked.
"Why do you carry tissues with you?" Hansen asked curiously, and Rock and Claude also looked over.
Ralph stared at them with wide eyes, not knowing what to say.
On the high hillside on the other side of the lake stands a majestic castle with towers and spiers, and windows twinkling under the stars.
"No more than four people per boat!" Hagrid said loudly, pointing to a group of small boats moored on the shore.
"You guessed it right, Claude!" Rock said.
Ralph and the others were naturally in the same boat.
"Are you all on board?" Hagrid shouted, and he took a boat by himself. "Okay... let's move forward!"
A group of small boats immediately sailed forward across the mirror-flat lake.
Everyone was silent, staring at the huge castle reaching into the sky.
When they approached the cliff where the castle was located, the castle seemed to tower above their heads, suppressing everyone's hearts.
"Look down!" Hagrid shouted as the first boats approached the cliff.
Everyone lowered their heads, and the boat carried them through the ivy curtain covering the front of the cliff to the hidden open entrance.
"We don't have to lower our heads." Claude sniffed and looked back at the cliff.
The people around heard it and looked back.
Indeed, with their height, they would never be able to touch that protruding rock wall in their lifetime.
They seemed to follow a dark tunnel to the castle underground, and finally arrived at a place similar to an underground dock, and then climbed up to a ground of gravel and pebbles.
Afterwards, under the light of Hagrid's lantern, they walked for who knows how long and finally gathered in front of a huge oak door.
"Is everyone here?" Hagrid raised a huge fist and knocked hard on the castle door three times.
A huge noise surrounded their ears and seemed to spread throughout the castle.
The door immediately opened. A tall black-haired witch wearing an emerald green robe stood in front of the door.
Her expression was serious and her eyes were stern. No one dared to look at her. Ralph glanced at her briefly and then withdrew his gaze to show respect.
"This is a first-year student, Professor McGonagall." Hagrid said with a hint of respect. Professor McGonagall, who was doing business, was always intimidating.
"Thank you, Hagrid. Leave the rest to me."
She opened the door wide.
The entrance hall is incredibly large, as high as five or six sea blocks and as wide as six or seven sea blocks.
Like an exquisite ancient royal tomb, the stone walls are surrounded by blazing torches, emitting a light that is inconsistent with itself.
The ceiling is so high that you can barely see the top.
On the front is a luxurious marble staircase that leads directly to the upper floor.
They followed Professor McGonagall along the stone floor.
They heard noisy voices coming from the door on the right, and they must have been students from other grades in the school.
But Professor McGonagall took them to a small empty room at the other end of the hall.
Everyone rushed in, rubbing shoulders and gazing nervously at everything around them.
"Welcome to Hogwarts," said Professor McGonagall.
"The opening banquet is about to begin, but before you go to the restaurant to sit down, you must first confirm which college you are entering.
Sorting is a very important ceremony because while you are at school, your house is like your home at Hogwarts.
...
The names of the four houses are: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
...
I hope that no matter which college you are assigned to, you can bring glory to the college."
"In a few minutes, the sorting ceremony will be held in front of all the teachers and students of the school. I suggest that you tidy up and feel refreshed while waiting."
Professor McGonagall's eyes wandered among the crowd for a moment, and then she left.
Suddenly, there were screams behind Ralph and the others, which startled them.
Turning around, about 20 ghosts emerged from the wall behind them.
These pearly white, translucent ghosts glide across the room coldly, as if going through the motions.
Only a fat ghost wanted them to join Hufflepuff.
"Now, line up in a single file," Professor McGonagall came back and said to the first-year students, "Follow me."
They walked out of the room, walked through the foyer, and entered the luxurious dining room through a double door at the back.
Students from other classes in the college were sitting around four long tables, and thousands of candles floating in the air above the tables illuminated the dining room.
There is another long table on the table at the top of the restaurant, which is where the teachers sit.
Professor McGonagall took the first years there and asked them to line up in a row facing the entire upper class, with the teachers behind them.
Many little wizards looked up and saw stars twinkling on the velvet-black ceiling.
'What a miracle.'
Professor McGonagall gently placed a four-legged stool in front of the first-year students, and placed a pointed wizard's hat on the stool.
The hat was patched, worn, and extremely dirty.
Ralph frowned, then opened his brow again.
There was silence in the restaurant, and then the hat twisted.
A wide slit opened in the brim of the hat, like a mouth. The hat began to sing:
"You may think I'm not pretty,
But never judge a book by its cover,
If you can find a prettier hat than mine,
I can eat myself.
...
Come and wear me! Don’t be afraid!
Don't panic!
In my hand (even though I don't even have a hand)
you are absolutely safe
Because I am a thinking magic hat!"
After the Sorting Hat finished singing, the audience burst into applause. The Sorting Hat bowed to the four dining tables one by one, and then stood still.
