Hogwarts: Storm Chaser

Chapter 39: The professor who persuaded the race

In the classroom, the duel scenes became more and more colorful, and Ralph and Professor Gladier also changed from fighting to showing off their skills, or in other words, performing.

In front of them stood a lion and a fire dragon respectively, both composed of fireworks emitted by the [Spark Spell].

The lion is a majestic male lion, with its golden-red mane fluttering as if in the wind, and its sharp claws flashing with white cold light slapping fiercely towards the opposite side.

Opposite is a Norwegian Spinosaurus. When the professor used the [Spark Spell] to build a lion, Ralph originally planned to build a thunderbird, but how did he know that the fire dragon was more suitable for this spell?

The Norwegian Spinosaurus swung its black-red tail and suddenly touched the lion's claws, shooting out a large number of fireworks. The two giant beasts dodged nimbly to avoid these fireworks.

The fire dragon flapped its thick wings, and the wind carried sparks and flew to the opposite side. It flew up.

The lion attacks, runs wildly, and jumps, and the lines on its body are vividly displayed, as if it were real.

He opened his big mouth and tried to pierce the dragon's wings with his pale fangs, but was stepped down by the fire dragon.

The Fire Dragon succeeded in gaining air superiority at the cost of one leg.

Professor Gladier also looked at Ralph's fire dragon with great interest to see if it could breathe fire like a real fire dragon.

Looking at the Norwegian Spinosaurus rising into the air, Ralph felt that the flames that formed its body seemed to have changed, and the connection with him became closer.

The fire dragon roared silently toward the sky, opened its mouth downwards, and a huge tongue of fire spurted out from it, rushing straight towards the big lion.

Ralph fired the [Spark Spell] at the fire dragon again and again, keeping it in shape.

Finally, the lion disappeared and the fire dragon stopped spraying, leaving only a head in the air.

"Ralph, you win." Professor Gladier looked at the pale-faced Ralph and said with a big smile.

But, as everyone knows, it was Ralph who lost.

Professor Gladier's breathing was steady, his face was as normal and even red, and he didn't even break out in sweat.

Ralph, on the other hand, was breathing rapidly, his face was pale, and his hair was wet, as if he had just come out of a steamer.

Professor Gladier cast a [Drying Curse] on Ralph, and Ralph subconsciously opened it with his wand and flew towards the professor.

The professor couldn't help but stepped aside. The curse hit the blackboard, and all the original blackboard writing was gone.

"Sorry, Professor." Ralph apologized awkwardly.

"It's okay, Ralph." Professor Gladier was also a little embarrassed. He cast a [Drying Curse] again. This time, Ralph did not hide and successfully dried his hair.

Afterwards, the professor changed the classroom back to its original state and everyone returned to their seats.

After adding 10 points to Ralph, Professor Gladier restarted the class, and the content was still [Spark Curse].

After watching a duel called the "Spark Cup", everyone's understanding of this spell has improved significantly. Although they are still not as good as Ralph, skilled students can already do some tricks.

A very simple example, William, as a lover of the "hard first and then easy" talent, can already change the color, light, and shape and sound of exploding fireworks.

This made Professor Gladier extremely happy, thinking that he was an educator who was delayed by the duel, and he generously added 5 points to Ravenclaw.

In the corridor on the third floor, the little wizards collectively poured out of the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom, chattering and discussing the content of today's class. There was no doubt that Ralph was going to become famous again.

But he was left talking by the professor, and his roommates were wandering the corridors boredly.

"Why were you kept by the professor again?" William asked when he saw Ralph walking towards him.

"Do you think I want to?" Ralph smiled bitterly, satisfying their curiosity:

"The professor asked me if I was interested in participating in the International Wizarding Duel Competition. He and Professor Flitwick could be my instructors. He also told me not to worry. If he is not here, I would go directly to Professor Flitwick..."

The four of them walked and talked together and arrived at the auditorium. Under everyone's friendly greetings, they sat down to eat.

Back in the dormitory, the four of them lay paralyzed on the bed for a while. They had no choice but to climb the eighth floor to get to the dormitory. They were too tired.

Even the pile of gifts beside Ralph's bed were only looked at curiously.

"Hmm~"

Ralph rolled on the bed, climbed up with difficulty, and sat on the edge of the bed, ready to open the gifts.

Placed at the top is a letter from Mr. and Mrs. Froome.

Opening the envelope, Ralph read it carefully, then folded the letter, stuffed it back into the envelope, and put it aside.

Then he began to open the gifts, which were full of candies, joke magic toys, various quills, different inks, a large stack of parchment, etc.

The corner of Ralph's mouth twitched because he had more pajamas and more socks. One set a day and one pair a day. It would take about a month to wear through the number he now has.

Of course, not all of the gifts inside were his, some were for his roommates, and the amount was no less than his, and even a little more.

Ralph waved his magic wand and delivered the gifts to their respective bedsides according to the names on them.

Seeing this, William jumped up immediately.

"Merlin, your neighbor is so nice! Ralph," William said happily, and immediately started opening the gifts, not forgetting to ask.

"What was written in that letter?"

"Nothing, just ask me not to go back today until there are no classes on the weekend." Ralph said.

"It's true that the whole family encourages you to violate school rules." William complained.

"You don't have to go, William." Daniel accepted the gift and spoke for Ralph's neighbor.

"Hehe, just pretend I didn't say anything." William smiled sheepishly and opened the gift seriously.

"They seem to have prepared a banquet and invited you too." Ralph continued.

"Oh yeah!"

William was so happy that he rolled on the bed.

Daniel and Claude were a little nervous. This was their first time doing something like this and they didn't know what to do.

Claude kept asking Ralph "what do his neighbors like" and "what gifts should they bring over" and so on.

At first, Ralph answered seriously, but later he became impatient and simply said that they like you, so just take you there.

This made Claude blush and asked, Really?

Ralph held up his forehead and explained to him in a nice voice that he was just an 11-year-old kid!

After opening the gifts, everyone tidied up and went to bed.

With the curtains drawn and his pajamas on, Ralph lay on the bed, closed his eyes, and recalled what Professor Gladier said to him:

"You have a very high affinity for fire magic. I believe you have already discovered it during the duel. I heard from Filius that you plan to continue on the path of magic."

"As your professor, even though it has been less than a year, I still recommend that you start with the [Fire Making Spell] and carefully feel the traces of your magic power when you use it."

"Don't touch anything related to runes for the time being, and feel the traces of your own magic power when casting spells. You will get what you want."

"If you want to achieve something like Miranda Gorshak, according to what I said, you can definitely surpass him."

"But, if you want to achieve something like me, well, like Filius, fighting is indispensable. Only fighting can allow you to integrate what you have learned, and even small life spells can be laid.

The basis for a victory.”

"So, should you consider signing up for the International Wizarding Duel Competition?"

"..."

With longing for the future, the light in Ralph's eyes gradually dimmed and he closed his eyes.
