Honghuang: Guanjiangkou storytelling, Chang'e tears

218, the ninth reincarnation, the story of the girl who converted to Xiu

On the high platform, Li Tong, with a calm expression, narrated the story.

The images in the eyes of countless listeners rotated, and they followed his narration through Jin Chan's life after life.

Second life.

Jin Chan was born in a self-sufficient and wealthy village hidden in a deep mountain canyon.

Similarly, Jin Chan worshiped in a small temple in the mountains, escaped into Buddhism, and became a little novice monk.

Although this temple is very small, Jin Chan was valued by the abbot and taught Buddhism from an early age. Therefore, at a young age, Jin Chan read all the scriptures and became familiar with Buddhism.

Unfortunately, the good times did not last long.

It was too late for him to think about the true meaning of the Buddha and walk towards Lingshan again.

Suddenly one day, screams sounded one after another in this usually quiet and peaceful village.

It turned out that the monster was eyeing this place and entered the village to kill ordinary people!

The wild mountain monsters are all bloody and cruel, ferocious existences that regard mortals as blood food.

For a time, everyone was panicked, and the remaining people hid in this small temple in the mountain, watching the fire in the village and listening to the shouts of fighting.

They kowtowed to the Buddha statue and chanted the Buddha's name with great piety, praying for the Buddha's light to come and subjugate demons.

But what is very unacceptable is that the gold-plated Buddha statue in this temple seems to be just a lifeless Buddha statue, without any reaction.

The golden cicada strikes the wooden fish and chants the scriptures.

But this did not deter the demons from outside who were burning, killing and looting. They had already approached the temple gate.

Just when people were feeling despair and had the will to die, the Buddha statue in Jin Chan's eyes suddenly became bright and the Buddha's light enveloped all directions.

The Buddha statue lowered its eyes, as if staring into his young eyes, and a grand and indifferent voice echoed in his mind.

"All my Western disciples should be determined to die to save the common people in the world. After death, they can ascend to the boundless paradise world, the golden cicada..."

Although Jin Chan was young, he was not ignorant. As the Buddha's voice filled his ears, he gradually understood that the Buddha was asking him to sacrifice his life for righteousness.

However, at this time, he still had questions in his mind: Why is the temple here and the Buddha statue here? Why can't the Buddha shine with great light and subdue demons?

Will those monsters really let these villagers go after eating him?

At this time, he had no time to think too much, so he could only step forward and willingly sacrifice his body.

As a result, he was captured by the demon and put on a steamer.

The third life.

Jin Chan was born in a village that suffered from constant natural disasters. There was a severe drought and countless people were hungry.

In order to keep him alive, his parents sent him to a temple and became a novice monk.

In this life, due to several years of drought, his parents had almost no harvest in their farmland. They had exhausted all the food in the family and were already starving at home.

Jin Chan learned the news and took them back to a temple with plenty of food, hoping that the temple could give them some food so that they could survive.

However, the surrounding villages are already starving and dying. If the Buddha was truly merciful, how could they have fallen to this level?

A frustrating result occurred: the temple was unwilling to accept his parents.

Jin Chan had no choice but to sincerely kowtow to the Buddha statue, chant sutras sincerely, and pray for blessings from the Buddha.

Finally, the Buddha's light shone everywhere, and the majestic Buddha's voice came again.

"My Buddha is merciful, so I should sacrifice myself to save..."

Blood spilled down, polluting the ground of the temple.

.......

Under Li Tong's mysterious storytelling skills, many immortals and gods almost witnessed Jin Chan's reincarnation experience in person.

Their expressions also changed from being thoughtful just now to being indescribable and very complicated!

"It is extremely rare for this golden cicada to be able to save others regardless of life and death."

"He is the monk who has truly practiced everything in the so-called Buddhist scriptures. Compared with him, such as the Buddha of Western Buddhism, he is simply a hypocrite worth mentioning."

"I didn't expect that there are people in Western religions who can be so ruthless to attack me. They can scrape off bones and flesh without changing their facial expressions, and they can be devoured by a group of monsters without shouting or yelling. If it were changed, I would definitely endure it.

Won’t come down.”

At this time, the immortals and gods in the three realms also felt a little strange in their hearts, and they were all touched by the actions of this golden cicada in several reincarnations.

In Wuzhuang Temple of Wanshou Mountain, Immortal Zhen Yuanzi, who has been busy recently with the matter of the remnant soul of the red cloud obtained from the Ancestor Minghe, could not help but sigh at this time:

"It is indeed rare in the world for this golden cicada to have such character, but... this so-called Buddhist school gives me a sneaky and gloomy feeling."

"I don't know what will happen to him next?"

Li Tong lost face in front of everyone. Yuanshi Tianzun, who was secretly peeping at this moment, frowned:

"Even if he is just an acquired ant, he is still a great person if he has the courage to sacrifice himself to save others."

"But what is this so-called Buddhism?"

"Making up doctrines, deceiving the common people, taking advantage of others without providing any protection, how is this behavior any different from a cult?"

Even though the conflict with Li Tong was not small, at this moment, Yuanshi Tianzun, who saw the deep meaning of his story, rarely had some similar opinions with him.

This so-called Buddhism, and even Western religion, are not a good thing!

For a moment, he felt a wave of emotion in his mind about planning something together with the two Western Saints.

In the Eight Views Palace, the Supreme Being, who had only briefly glanced at him, now shook his head.

"When you have a delusional mind, you startle your mind. When you startle your mind, you get attached to all things. When you get attached to all things, you get greedy. When you get greedy, you get troubles. When you have troubles and delusional thoughts, you suffer from physical and mental distress...

..."

He didn't want to hear such stories, and he didn't want to see such scenes.

Using the suffering of nine reincarnations to destroy the Taoist heart of a person who pursues the Tao is not an act of tempering but an act of destroying the Tao.

If such behavior had occurred in ancient times, it would have been despised by countless immortals and gods, and would have been punished by heaven.

Leader Tongtian also frowned and felt displeased:

"Before sacrificing yourself, you should also weigh whether it is worth it or not!"

"We must measure ourselves even more. Saints like us can't save the family from suffering, but how can ordinary people have such misty and far-sighted vision?"

"What's more, this so-called Buddhism is not a good thing. It is obviously a matter that can be easily solved, but it makes a little novice continue to sacrifice?"

"If the evil sect comes to the wild world to do evil things, I must let them know if my Immortal Killing Sword is still useful?"

Although the leader was slightly touched by Jin Chan's act of sacrificing himself for others, he definitely did not approve of it at all.

The Second Saint of the West, who was hidden among the many immortals, also looked a little horrified at this time.

They admitted that many of the great ambitions they had made for sanctifying the sanctuary were exaggerated and difficult to realize.

However, the Western religion under their leadership is far from what Li Tong described in his words!

How can Western religions use such unworthy methods to embarrass a little ordinary person?

Totally not worth it!

After receiving the invitation, Zhunti groaned in his heart, completely losing the joy he felt when he first heard the name Sanzang.

Some people just feel bitter in their hearts.

Three Tibetans turned into three burials. According to Li Tong's current story, isn't it obvious what these burials are?

Apart from this unscrupulous Buddhist who forced him and oppressed him, who else could be there!

Many immortals and gods have constant thoughts in their minds, but there is no doubt that their impression of Buddhism in the story is getting worse and worse.

Seeing the changes in their expressions and listening to the whispered exchanges between them, Li Tong continued to talk without explaining:

"Finally in the ninth life, Jin Chan finally grew up safely and had his own dharma name: Tripitaka!"

Hearing this, many listeners breathed a sigh of relief.

Jin Chan's reincarnation is really not easy, and he can never live to the age of eighteen safely.

Many people sympathize with him. His fate for eight lifetimes was so miserable. He was either eaten by monsters or died saving others. It is unbearable to recall.

However, with this sympathy, they were also thinking about it in their hearts, trying to figure out Li Tong's pronunciation, and secretly guessed that the Buddhist name at this time was not San Zang, but San Zang as they had guessed before.

There must have been some major changes in the future, which made him change his name to Three Burials.

Thinking of this, they suddenly became energetic, and they all looked forward to what kind of change would cause Sanzang to become Sanzang.

Ignoring their sudden overflow of sympathy, Li Tong continued:

"Actually, Sanzang was born with a wisdom root that is unrivaled by others. He is extremely talented. Although he is not an innate body, he is one of the best among acquired beings."

"Otherwise, he would not have gained a good understanding of the Buddhist scriptures and expressed his own opinions in every reincarnation."

"And he also truly has a compassionate heart and is very consistent with the true meaning of Buddhist scriptures."

"In his heart, all living beings are equal, and no matter how small a living being is, they are worthy of protection. He will never kill any living beings. Even when sweeping the floor, he will deliberately avoid insects and ants on the ground. When he is reading at night, he will use a lampshade to protect the oil lamp to prevent moths.

Putting out fires, in daily life..."

Looking at such a scene, ordinary people just feel that this man's knowledge and actions are one, and he is indeed a rare eminent monk in Buddhism.

The immortals and gods were a little puzzled, but they didn't say anything more and were still slightly touched in their hearts.

For these people with great supernatural powers, not to mention insects, ants, and moths, even human beings are just like ants in their eyes, and there is no need to protect them.

Not to mention paying special attention to them, or even avoiding them.

Although they do not deliberately kill, they do not have the kindness to save lives and heal the wounded. Immortals value themselves. All birth, old age, illness and death are all aspects of human life, so they can just watch with cold eyes.

And why bother to involve yourself in it?

From this point of view, Jin Chan has indeed recorded the Buddhist teachings recorded in the Buddhist scriptures in his head and cultivated them into his bone marrow.

Every move he makes is quite Buddhist.

It's true, it's somewhat rare.

And often, if such people come to practice Taoism, their achievements will be even more limitless.

"Why did you become a bald donkey?"

Many immortals and gods secretly murmured that the Western religion in that foreign land was not a good thing.

Li Tong continued:

"When Sanzang was still a young monk, he was carrying water at the foot of the mountain and returning to the temple. When he passed a banyan tree, he heard the sound of a woman crying under the tree. He remembered that the master said that family members were merciful and rescued people in distress. There were people who cried out in grief.

, then you cannot sit idly by and ignore it.”

On one side of the picture, before everyone's eyes is a quiet mountain forest with winding paths and towering banyan trees.

The young monk put down the wine barrel, stepped forward lightly, put his palms together and asked the little girl under the banyan tree why she was sad.

I only heard her say that her big yellow dog was bitten to death by a wolf while trying to save her.

"It died to save its owner. Saving one life is better than building a seven-level pagoda. The puppy saved the girl, and his merits are immeasurable. Cause and effect are reincarnated, and good causes sow good results. Why should the girl be sad here? The puppy may be reincarnated as a result.

Isn’t it something worth being happy about being a human being?”

The young monk lowered his eyebrows, lowered his eyes, calmed his mind, and softly advised.

"Well, that makes sense."

The girl burst into laughter and nodded in agreement, but when she turned around and thought about not being able to play with rhubarb from now on, she still couldn't hide her sadness.

When the young monk saw this, he just said that he could ask it to recite sutras and save the souls of the dead.

The tears on the girl's face were not yet dry. When she heard the young monk's words, she was overjoyed, her eyes filled with light, and she said:

"Thank you, little monk, my name is Qixiu, just call me Miss Xiu!"

Then Qixiu asked:

"Little Master, is it true that there is reincarnation again?"

"If the master says there is something, then there is something."

The young monk answered with a serious face.

Qixiu said with an innocent and trusting face:

"Then I believe you, little master. Can I listen to you lecture, chant Buddhist scriptures and tell stories in the future?"

"Of course, Amitabha."

The young monk clasped his hands together and chanted devoutly.

The young monk and Qixiu stood in front of the puppy's grave together, one chanting sutras softly, the other silently remembering.

From then on, there was a story between them. Miss Xiu would often come to the temple to find the young monk, listen to his sermons, listen to him chanting Buddha's words, and listen to him talk about Zen.

Until, they slowly grow up.

One day, Miss Xiu, who was about to grow up, came to Sanzang again and asked Sanzang to tell him a story.

Sanzang then told her a story called the Three Refuges.

Once upon a time, there was an old monk who was always being visited by thieves. He couldn't bear it anymore. One day, the thief came again. He said to the thief, please put your hand through the crack in the door. I will give you whatever you want.

The thief was very happy after hearing this, and put his hand in through the crack of the door. Unexpectedly, the old monk grabbed his hand, tied it to a pillar, and then beat him with a stick, shouting back while beating him:

Take refuge in the Buddha! Take refuge in the Dharma! Take refuge in the Sangha!

The thief cried out in pain: "Ouch! Stop hitting me~~~Ouch~~~It hurts! Ouch!! Stop!! Ouch~~"

The old monk didn't care about him, but just called him to take refuge in the Buddha!

The thief was in so much pain that he had no choice but to shout: Take refuge in the Buddha! Take refuge in the Dharma! Take refuge in the Sangha!

This is the famous story of Three Refuges and Duande in Buddhist scriptures.

Miss Guxiu was fascinated by what she heard, her eyebrows curled up with a smile, and after listening she said:

"Then let me tell you a story about the Four Refuges!"

Sanzang was stunned: "The four refuges?"

He has never heard of this story!

So Miss Xiu picked up his hand and wrote on his hand while reading:

"Take refuge in the Buddha! Take refuge in the Dharma! Take refuge in the Sangha!"

Sanzang couldn't help but chuckle and chanted along:

"Take refuge in the Buddha! Take refuge in the Dharma! Take refuge in the Sangha!"

At this moment, Miss Xiu said softly:

"Convert...Show girl..."

"Convert...huh?"
