HP Approaches the Magic World
Chapter 20 The Life and Lies of Dumbledore
When Jon was reading the original work, he often thought about this question.
It is true that Dumbledore was a very powerful wizard, but except for the great white wizard, the good wizards did not even have the power to protect themselves when the black wizards were chasing them. They were always avoiding and fleeing.
He placed his own safety on another person (the secret keeper), and when he was in danger, he had to use his life to protect his children, but no one ever stood up, picked up the wand, and said he would fight back.
This is definitely a mistake, and the seeds of this mistake were already planted when Dumbledore defeated Grindelwald in 1945.
Jon took out a pen and started writing on his notes.
When doing research, he has this habit of recording.
First, Dumbledore, as the greatest white wizard of this century, gained an unrivaled reputation in the wizarding world because he defeated Grindelwald, which Jon also had to admit.
But Dumbledore really went too far in some aspects. At least Dumbledore played an important role in the implementation of the wizarding world's ban on Unforgivable Curses.
This cannot be said to be wrong. Banning the Unforgivable Curse is indeed a good thing.
The problem is that while prohibiting the implementation of the Unforgivable Curse, it does not prohibit wizards from obtaining the Unforgivable Curse.
Even if there is no way to completely ban these channels, the Ministry of Magic, including Dumbledore himself, has not attempted such efforts.
Just talk about the books in the restricted section of the Hogwarts library as an example.
Do the professors at Hogwarts really need to use these books when teaching a certain student?
Isn't their own magic level not enough to deal with a student?
Jon didn't think so. He could only explain this matter as the forbidden book area is a tradition of Hogwarts, or because Dumbledore had to deal with too many problems and forgot about it.
The second point is that when Jon was arranging the major events of "Harry Potter", he discovered a question about the powerful spell used by Harry's mother Lily Potter.
The spell to sacrifice the mother to protect the child should have been obtained from Dumbledore.
Harry's father, James Potter, and his three friends are not quick and studious people. Although they have good talents in a certain aspect of magic (such as Animagus), they are still willing to do it.
They studied hard, but as Gryffindors, they were not that proficient in Charms.
Gryffindor has produced many outstanding wizards, but given the average level of the wizarding world at that time, Jon still had a bit of doubt about this concept of excellence. After all, Gryffindor has many graduates every year.
But there are not many people who can reach half of Dumbledore's level over the years.
Maybe Lily Potter is a diligent and studious witch, but the curse that can seriously injure Voldemort, the second-generation Dark Lord, cannot be found through diligence and studious. Such a curse is like Dumbledore's curse on Harry Potter.
The power of love mentioned by Lee is the same, very ethereal.
So Jon guessed that even if this curse did not come from Dumbledore, it must not be related to Dumbledore.
So, did Dumbledore already know about the prophecy about the savior?
This is another question.
Third, there is the issue of Dumbledore's strength.
Gellert Grindelwald is one of the most powerful dark wizards in history (Jon personally believes that this dark wizard is more powerful than Voldemort, after all, Voldemort split too many souls), if he can
He was defeated by Dumbledore when his magic power was at its peak, so it shouldn't be a problem for Dumbledore to defeat Voldemort.
Unless Dumbledore's victory was not a victory of strength as the legend has it.
If it's because of love... it seems to make sense. This can also explain why Dumbledore insists on the so-called magic of love so much.
After all, he himself is a successful precedent.
"Okay, that's all for now."
Jon closed his notebook, checked that no one around him was paying attention to him, stuffed the notebook directly into the ring, and then returned the book he took from the bookshelf.
Mrs. Peace said hello, Jon left the library and walked around the castle.
After sitting in the library for so long, he didn't feel hungry at all.
The castle of Hogwarts is as complex as a maze. After walking around for a while, Jon ended up in a strange place on the eighth floor. He simply found a window and leaned against the wall in a daze.
He was determined to get the Marauder's Map, which actually wasn't that difficult, but he didn't know if the Weasley twins had stolen the Marauder's Map at this time.
Harry will enter school next year, and he only got the Marauder's Map when he was in third grade. The twins are one grade older than Jon, and are now in second grade, so they probably haven't gotten the Marauder's Map yet.
If you get it... then you have to see if the copy spell can work and copy the effects of the map.
The scenery of Hogwarts is beautiful, even grander than in the movie, and most importantly, it is very real.
When the high cold wind hit Jon's face, he had a more direct experience of this reality.
The "Harry Potter" series is a literary work, but Jon lives in a real world. This is the contradiction Jon faces now.
Literary works often have the problem of being overly beautified. Even in that world, J.K. Rowling made up a fictional world, but this beautification still exists.
The overall world context has not changed, Voldemort is still defeated by Harry Potter, and Harry Potter will still enter school next year, but obviously, the real world is much crueler than the book.
The Magical World is not a storybook for children after all.
Apart from the main story of Harry Potter and Tom Riddle's grievances, the side stories that do not appear in the book are actually more worthy of attention.
Grindelwald, who was imprisoned in the Nurmengard Tower, even though the wand was taken away by Dumbledore, could he, who once had more followers than Voldemort, really be imprisoned that simply?
Nurmengard is a prison built by Grindelwald himself. If you want to stage a prison escape, you don't even need to dig a tunnel.
If he doesn't come out, is he unable to come out or unwilling to come out?
I'm afraid I have to ask Dumbledore this question.
Moreover, this is not something Jon should consider now.
Jon stopped admiring the scenery and looked towards Dumbledore's office.
Snape was passing the guardian stone elephant and entering the room.
