HP Approaches the Magic World
Chapter 745: Inside and Outside the Arch
Hermione drew a picture in mid-air with her wand, and a red cross appeared on the door.
When the door clicked shut behind them, an ear-splitting rumble immediately began, and the walls began to rotate rapidly again.
But in the faint blue light, there was a huge, blurry golden red. When everything was still again, the fiery red cross was still burning, indicating that they had entered this door.
"Well done," Harry praised: "Now, let's try this one again -"
He still strode straight to the door in front of him, raised his wand and pushed the door open, while the others still followed behind.
This place was larger than the previous one, dimly lit, square in shape, and sunken in the center, forming a huge stone pit about twenty feet deep.
Stone steps surround the entire house, like stone benches, gradually descending step by step, each step is very steep.
Like a lecture theater, or the courtroom where Harry was interrogated by the Wizengamot,
They were standing on the top step.
But there was no chained chair in the center of the stone pit. Instead, there was a raised stone platform with an arch standing on it. It looked very old and shabby. Harry was surprised that it could still stand there.
Don't fall down.
There is no wall support around the arch, and a tattered black curtain or curtain hangs on it. Although the air here is cold and there is no wind, it is swaying gently, as if it has just been touched.
.
"Who's there?"
Harry said, jumping to the stone bench on the next level. But no one responded, but the curtain was still swinging.
"careful!"
Hermione lowered her voice and said.
Harry quickly climbed down the stone benches step by step to the bottom of the stone pit, and then slowly walked towards the stone platform. The sound of his footsteps echoed in the room. The pointed arch now looked much higher than when he looked down from above.
The curtain was still swaying slightly, as if someone had just passed through it.
"Sirius?"
Harry called again, softly because he was so close.
He had a very strange feeling that someone must be standing behind the curtain, or on the other side of the arch.
He clutched his wand tightly and carefully walked around behind the stage, but there was no one there - from here he could only see the other side of the tattered black curtain.
"Let's go," Hermione called down to the middle of the stone steps: "This one isn't the same, Harry, come on, let's go."
She sounded frightened, more frightened than she had been in the room with the swimming brain, but Harry felt that, despite its age, the arch had a unique beauty.
The gently fluttering curtain aroused his interest; he had a strong desire to climb up the stone platform and pass through it.
"Harry, leave quickly, okay?"
Hermione's tone became more urgent.
"Come here."
he said, but did not move. He had just heard something, a faint whisper and murmur coming from behind the curtain.
"what are you guys saying?"
He asked loudly, his words echoing among the stone benches.
"No one is talking, Harry!"
Hermione said walking towards him.
"Someone was talking quietly in the back."
He said and moved away from Hermione, still frowning and staring at the curtain, "Is that you, Ron?"
"I'm here, mate," Ron said, walking around from the other side of the arch.
"Can't you all hear the sound?"
Harry asked urgently, as the whispers and mutterings grew louder; subconsciously he found his feet on the stone platform.
"I can hear it too," Luna whispered, coming to the side of the arch to stand with them. She stared at the fluttering curtains, "There's someone in there!"
"What do you mean, in there?"
Hermione asked angrily, jumping down from the bottom step. She didn't know where the anger came from.
"There's nothing in there. It's just an arch. There's no place for anyone to be. Harry, stop doing this and get out of here-"
Hermione grabbed his arm and pulled him away, but he wouldn't listen.
"Harry, we are here to save Sirius!"
She said loudly at the top of her lungs.
"Sirius," Harry repeated, still in a daze, staring straight at the fluttering curtains.
"Alas..."
He finally came to his senses. Sirius was captured, tied up and tortured, but here he was staring at the arch... He took a few steps back and left the stone platform, and his eyes suddenly moved away from the curtain.
"let's go."
"I've been asking - fine, let's go!"
Hermione said, walking back around the stone platform.
On the other side of the stone platform, Ginny and Neville were also staring at the curtain in trance, obviously fascinated.
Hermione and Ron said nothing. Hermione grabbed Ginny's arm, and Ron grabbed Neville's arm. They strode resolutely to the stone bench at the bottom and climbed all the way back to the entrance of the room.
.
"What do you think...that arch is?"
Harry asked Hermione when they returned to the black circular room.
"I don't know, but whatever it is, it must be dangerous."
Hermione said affirmatively and drew another X on the door.
The wall spun again, then stopped again.
Harry picked a door at random, walked over, and pushed it, but the door didn't budge.
"What's wrong?" Hermione asked.
"It's... locked."
Harry said as he pushed it with his whole body, but the door still didn't move.
"Looks like this is it, right?"
Ron said excitedly, working hard with Harry to push the door open: "This must be it."
"Step aside!"
Hermione screamed, pointing her wand at where the door lock should be, and chanting: "Open the Alaho!"
But the door is still the same.
"Sirius's knife!"
Harry said, taking out the knife from his robes and inserting it through the crack between the door and the wall.
The others watched eagerly as he used the knife to cut from top to bottom, then he pulled out the knife and bumped it again with his shoulder.
The door was still closed as tightly as before, and not only that, when Harry looked down, he found that the blade had melted.
"It seems like we shouldn't take care of this room anymore."
Hermione said decisively.
"But what if this is the room?"
Ron said, looking at the door with worry and longing.
"No way, Harry can go through all the doors in his dream."
Hermione said, making another mark on the door, and at the same time, Harry put the scrapped hilt of Sirius' knife back into his pocket.
