Only a handful of people at the cutting edge really noticed something was wrong.

Things start in April.

At the end of April, Xin'an's two new cars, a large SUV with a price of 300,000 yuan for families and a family car with a price of 150,000 yuan, accepted reservations.

Both models are equipped with a new generation (castrated version) of the XW161 intelligent driving system, which has slightly better battery life and performance than its peers.

However, the most eye-catching announcement is that after the cumulative sales of 300,000 units of the two models, 20 lucky car owners will be randomly selected and sent spaceship tickets.

This situation of relying on aerospace companies to do whatever they want is despised by major car manufacturers because they have no ability to fight back.

Ternary, how do you copy this thing? They don’t even know what language the ternary code is written in!

In the end, Baidu cooperated with the Microelectronics Laboratory of Jiaotong University in Shanghai to remove the X32115 chip, polish it and analyze it.

That is to say, use a laser to erase the chip package layer by layer to expose the innermost circuit part, and then use an electron microscope to observe the transistor structure.

During this process, they first determined based on the packaging process that these chips were manufactured by Huaxin International. The core part used the 28nm process, and the periphery was doped with 45nm and 55nm processes. Then they discovered the unique field effect transistor structure.

That is, the principle of two transistors simulating a ternary basic element is very simple, but the laboratory was still extremely surprised by this conclusion.

There are more than 800 million field effect transistors, which means that behind this ternary chip is a mature EDA design, which is the result of more than ten years of hard work by countless semiconductor people!

But where on earth has there been an organization that has conducted long-term follow-up research on ternary components and systems?

If the chip's packaging hadn't indicated that it was manufactured by Huaxin International's 28nm OEM, they would have suspected it was an alien product.

Then they asked Huaxin International for verification, and Huaxin International briefly disclosed a little information about these ternary chips, and then remained silent.

The X32115 chip has been iterated again. This year, the X32116 is produced. The manufacturing process remains unchanged, but a lot of optimizations have been carried out. Special performance has been enhanced while power consumption has not increased.

And the cost has also come down. The average price of X32115 is almost 3,000 yuan, and the average price of X32116 is only 2,500 yuan, which is much cheaper.

Coupled with other supporting chips and storage devices, Huaxin International made a lot of money. According to the wishes of the funder, it did not make any publicity, so by the time it was taken seriously, it was already too late.

Therefore, the Science and Industry Committee has now learned from the shocked Baidu and Shanghai Jiaotong University, as well as the reluctant Huaxin International, that Xinyuan has a mature ternary system of software and hardware research and development, and may have surpassed the current mainstream level. .

The current mainstream chip manufacturing processes in the world are still 14nm and 16nm, and 28nm has fallen behind.

As a result, the performance of the ternary chip using the 28nm process actually exceeded that of the binary chip using the advanced process?

The Science and Technology Commission first dismantled more than a dozen X32115 and X32116 for analysis, and then conducted a detailed evaluation of XW151.

The person who received the analysis task was Fu Weiwu, the leader of the Loongson team.

According to external analysis, the current 3B2000 released by Loongson can compete with the Core i3 550 released in 2010. It can be regarded as... at least it has a good prospect.

Fu Weiwu was very surprised when he got the X32116. It knew about Xinyuan's intelligent driving technology, but it was related to the GPU. He thought Xinyuan had bought a professional card from NVIDIA or AMD.

Then someone told him that the X32116 in his hand was actually a mature domestic ternary processor, and its performance crushed mainstream deep learning cards? Is there a supporting ternary system?
