North American Gunslinger Detective
Chapter 191 Arriving at Quantico
Chapter 191 Arriving at Quantico
Jimmy stopped at a roadside restaurant, ordered a pasta, a steak, and a cup of coffee, and slowly passed the time. He really needed a rest after driving for a long time, especially a man like Jimmy who had been a patrolman. He was all too aware of the dangers of fatigue driving.
Already.
While Jimmy was eating, a family of three sat down at the table next to him. The couple were still discussing where to go next. From what they were talking about, it seemed that they were traveling during the holidays.
Jimmy was eating and listening to their complaints, and suddenly they mentioned the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Jimmy turned to look at them and said, "Excuse me, I just heard you say that the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is boring right now? I was just about to go on vacation."
Man: "Oh, no, don't go there now. It's a waste of time. It snowed just a few days ago. Now we can only stay in the hotel and watch the snow scenery. There is no way to go to the mountain."
Jimmy: "Are there no other places to play in the Smoky Mountains?"
Man: "Barely not. The Great Smoky Mountains are originally a place for families to relax and enjoy the scenery. Now because of the heavy snow, it is very troublesome and dangerous to travel. Our family just made a trip in vain, stayed for one night and then returned."
Jimmy: "Well, it seems I have to plan the route again. Thank you."
Man: "You're welcome."
After Jimmy finished his lunch, he went back to the car without staying any longer. He needed to look at the travel map again, because there were only 3 or 4 days left, and there was no time to go to far places.
After looking around, Jimmy had to give up. It was still about 800 kilometers from Knoxville to Quantico, Virginia, and Jimmy had no interest in the scenic spots around Knoxville.
Jimmy thought about it and decided to leave for Quantico early. He didn't know if the FBI National Academy would accept early reporting. If not, Jimmy would have to find a place nearby to stay for two days.
Jimmy started the car and drove directly to Virginia along Route 81. In the evening, he rested for one night at a place called Marion. The next day he set off for Richmond, the capital of Virginia. After staying one night, he went directly to
Quantico.
The FBI National Academy that Jimmy is going to is in the forest next to Quantico, together with the Marine Corps Training Base and the DEA Police Academy.
Jimmy arrived at the registration point one day early. However, he could not drive to the college by himself. He had to find a hotel to stay in nearby Stafford for one night. Then he would meet at the registration point the next day and take the bus to the college with the others.
For Jimmy, the biggest trouble was his car. While he had time, Jimmy contacted a parking lot, rented a long-term parking space, emptied the contents of the car, and took his suitcase to a nearby hotel.
Early the next morning, Jimmy brought his suitcase to the registration point and got on the academy bus. After waiting for others to arrive, the bus started and drove into a forest road, and then came to the FBI Academy in the forest.
While the bus was driving, everyone on the bus was silent, no one spoke, and it felt very depressing.
Finally, the bus stopped in front of a building, and people on the bus got off one after another. Jimmy got his suitcase and followed the flow of people into the building.
Jimmy has been observing other people and the surrounding environment. Most of these people were a little excited and nervous after getting off the car. Jimmy is looking forward to this training very much. He knows his shortcomings. Although he has been a policeman for two years, he has not had any before.
He has undergone systematic training, but strictly speaking, he is just a semi-finished policeman.
For many people, becoming an FBI agent has a sense of mystery. Coming to the mysterious FBI Academy for training and becoming an agent is the biggest goal of these students at the moment, and it is also Jimmy's current goal, but he still doesn't know if he can.
Study and test through the academy.
Not all students who come to the FBI Academy will graduate successfully. Under normal circumstances, the FBI will only select some of the students with outstanding performance and give them badges and assign them positions. Those who do not get assigned positions have no choice but to leave.
The FBI Academy is all new to these newcomers. Everyone just follows the instructions, enters the building, walks along the passage to the registration office, registers, and is assigned a dormitory. Everything is just like the admission of college freshmen.
Jimmy and the others put down their luggage and then came to the lobby. The college director and counselor explained to them the precautions and preparations. At the same time, staff prepared clothing and equipment for each student.
After everything is arranged, all students will be assigned dormitories to rest.
On the second day, the students began their formal academy life. All students were required to attend new employee training courses to gain a detailed and systematic understanding of the history, culture and structure of the FBI, as well as the tests and related courses they were about to participate in at the FBI Academy.
, and also need to take an oath of honor.
"As a student at the FBI Academy, I am committed to the pursuit of truth and knowledge, I subscribe to the highest principles of honesty, integrity, loyalty and noble conduct, and I will not condone the actions of those who resort to dishonest means to achieve their moral hopes.
"
For Jimmy, his understanding of the FBI mainly relies on the TV series and movies he has watched before. It is also a novel experience to understand the history and structure of the FBI from the beginning. As for the oath, well, Jimmy doesn't think it is anything special.
The police also need to take an oath, it's just a formality.
Starting from the third day, the students will enter the first test, the physical fitness test.
The FBI requires that all agents have sufficient physical fitness to complete the training. Passing the physical fitness test is crucial to completing subsequent basic training courses, ensuring that trainees successfully complete their studies during the learning process and can effectively perform their duties after graduation.
Of course, there are agents who specialize in physical training in the academy. The academy also has gyms and sports venues, which can ensure that students are in good physical condition during the five-month study process.
This part of the physical fitness test does not have much content, including sit-ups, push-ups, pull-ups, 300-meter sprint and 2.4-kilometer run. It is a point-based test. The passing score is a total score of 12 points.
Sit-ups, standard posture, you can get 1 point if you complete 38 sit-ups in one minute. There is no rest in between. Each additional number will add one point. If you do more than 58 sit-ups, you will get a full score of 10 points.
Push-ups, standard position, with arms and shoulders straight when lowering, regardless of time, but need to be done continuously, 30-32 push-ups are 1 point, 33-39 push-ups are 2 points, each additional push-up is 1 point, and more than 71 push-ups are 10
Full marks.
For pull-ups, it is required that the chin exceeds the bar after pulling up. If you pull up more than 2 times, you will be scored. If you pull up more than 20 times, you will get 10 points.
For the 300-meter sprint, scoring starts within 52.4 seconds, and the full score is within 40.9 seconds, with 1 point every 1.5 seconds.
For the 2.4-kilometer run, scoring started at 12:24 and the full score was 8:59.
The above data is for men, and the requirements for women are lower. Each of the 5 sets of tests must be rested for no more than 5 minutes. Each set of tests must score at least 1 point, and the total score must be at least 12 points.
Fortunately, these contents are not a problem for Jimmy. One is that he is indeed young, and the other is that while working as a policeman for the past two years, he has not given up on fitness and fighting. He has always insisted on physical training, so he is qualified.
Say it's not a problem.
For students, the requirements for quasi-agents and quasi-intelligence analysts are different. For quasi-intelligence analysts, the physical fitness test data is more of a reference and is not mandatory.
It’s the last day of September, friends who have monthly tickets, don’t waste it, vote now!
In addition, if you are interested in the FBI's physical fitness test data, you can test your score.
