Reverse Growth Superstar

: One Thousand and Forty Three: The Emperor and the Great (1/5)

Luke Richard Barmott was selected by the Bucks with the 37th overall pick in the second round of 2008.

He has never been a high-profile star, and even when he played in the NCAA, the statistics are not too explosive.

In 2008, compared with such shiny names as Derek Rose, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love, etc., he was really ordinary and was drowned in the long rookie list.

Although he successfully entered the NBA, he is still not well known.

Poor offensive ability made him hardly get any attention, and the poor results of his team also made him not able to play defensively in the playoffs like Tony Allen.

In this way, Ba Motte wanders and drifts in the league. He has moved to many teams, and many of his fans will forget him the day after he leaves.

After all, in the NBA, not all players can become superstars. The scenery at the tip of the pyramid is good, but it must be set off by ordinary players.

Bamotte is one of these ordinary players.

If he hadn't settled in the Clippers this year and had a huge exposure in Los Angeles, this big market, maybe Bamotte would be even less famous.

However, it is such a blue-collar who is unknown in the league. In his country, Cameroon, he is an out-and-out basketball hero.

"I just want to be a role model and tell the children of Cameroon that they can have more choices." This is what Bamott said in an interview, and this is also the positive significance of his landing in the NBA for Cameroon.

Cameroon is a unitary republic located in central and western Africa. The economy is fair, but there are still many areas that are relatively backward. Many of Bamot's childhood playmates dropped out of school and went to work on the farm just for a dollar a day.

Just because there is no money to buy medicine and food, Ba Motte even witnessed the death of his childhood friend.

Therefore, after entering the NBA, Bamot also used his influence and financial resources to vigorously develop Cameroonian basketball.

He goes home every summer to run a basketball training camp, hoping to discover more talented children.

He wanted to make Cameroonian children fall in love with basketball, convince them that they have this potential, and try to do something extraordinary.

This is Ba Motte, an ordinary person in the NBA, but in his country, he is a hero in all minds.

Thanks to his efforts, besides him, there are already two Cameroonian players in the NBA.

Also, more and more people have changed their lives and destiny because of basketball.

He has come into contact with countless talented Cameroonian children, many of whom have become true professional players even if they cannot play in the NBA.

But among the many children, the one that impressed Bamotte the most was the one he met five years ago who was going to play volleyball in France.

In June 2011, Bamot, who was less than 30 at the time, went home as always to run a basketball training camp.

In the training camp, a thin child made Bamotte's eyes shine.

He is very physical, fast break, change direction, turn around in one go. He rushed to the basket with a burst dunk and the basket shook violently.

The most important thing is that the child has grown to 2.07 meters when he was only 17 years old. The most shocking thing about Bamott was when he asked the coach at the training camp how long the kid had played basketball, the coach scratched his head in embarrassment.

"Only 6 months, and the formal training of the system is 3 months."

"What!? What's his name?" Bamotte was shocked, and he was able to do this in just three months of formal training. Then if he is sent to receive more professional training, he can't take off?

After , Bamot got a name that he will remember for life, "His name is Joel Embiid."

So 2 months after the end of the training camp, Bamot arranged for Embiid to go to the United States.

At that time, Embiid would only say "Goodmorning", he didn't even know whether the NCAA was a dish or something else.

But with Bamot's help, Embiid quickly adapted to this place. He played every day, trained, watched Olajuwon's video and saw vomiting, and then continued training.

After the end of high school, Embiid negotiated with Barmott about the NCAA, and Embiid finally gained a foothold in Kansas.

After entering the university, Embiid was also disappointed in the face of various geniuses. He once found Bamot and confided in disappointment, "I don't think I belong here at all."

Just like his father's roar when he knew he was going to the United States to play basketball, he stood up angrily and patted the table, "In Cameroon, no one will play basketball!"

However, Bamoto just told him, "Don't talk nonsense, you will be selected first in the first round."

At the time, Embiid just smiled wryly. He is not a kid anymore, he knows, this is just a lie that Bamott told him to comfort himself.

Indeed, Bamot is lying to him.

The No. 1 pick in 2014 is Andrew Wiggins, who is known as another "son of the heaven".

But Embiid was also drafted by the 76ers in the third overall pick. At that moment, Embiid really believed that he could play basketball.

But in fact, if it wasn't for the stress fracture of his right foot in college, God knows if Embiid would really become the top pick...

Although he entered the league as a tang, Embiid has not been smooth sailing after entering the NBA. To be precise, it was utterly unlucky.

Because of college injuries, Embiid, like Griffin, the No. 1 pick in 2009, was directly reimbursed during his rookie season.

In the summer of 15 years, Embiid underwent another scaphoid bone transplantation of the foot and is expected to recover for 5-8 months. This means that Embiid has been reimbursed for two consecutive seasons in the NBA before playing a game...

Many people have forgotten this guy, forgot this 14-year flower show. Speaking of Joel Embiid, even the most senior NBA fan will be stunned for a second, and then look dumbfounded, "This name is so familiar, but I just can't remember who it is."

No one has any expectations for Embiid. No one thinks that someone who hasn't played official games for two consecutive years can survive in the NBA.

Even when the 76ers officially announced that Embiid was coming back this summer, no one cared at all.

But Embiid did not live up to the expectations of Bamot and the 76ers. This guy who attracted Bamot's attention after only three months of formal training was like a beast who had been hungry for several days and began to go crazy in the league. Kill!

On October 26, 2016, Embiid played for the first time on behalf of the 76ers and opened his NBA debut two years later.

He scored 20 points, 7 rebounds and 2 blocks efficiently in 22 minutes of his first appearance.

A few days later, on November 1, in the 76ers home game against the Magic, Embiid played just 25 minutes and scored 18 points, 10 rebounds, 4 blocks and 3 assists.

This makes Embiid the first player in the 76ers to score at least 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 blocks since the 83-84 season without playing more than 25 minutes!

On November 5, Embiid continued to shine. He played 25 minutes against the Cavaliers and made 7 of 13 shots, including 4 of 4 three-pointers. He scored 22 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 blocks!

4 three-pointers made, also set a new record in his career!

The most frightening thing about Embiid is that his playing time is not directly proportional to his personal data. He can often produce quite exaggerated data in a very limited time!

In this era of withered centers, Embiid's turnout turned out to shock the world.

His shooting, speed, ball control and technique fully meet the requirements of modern basketball for a center forward!

Now, the legend of Embiid has officially kicked off. From the beginning of disdain, people are discussing where the upper limit of this guy is.

Recalling all of Embiid's experience, Bamot is very proud. Facts have proved that he did not look at him.

Of course, he knew Embiid could do better, and he could attract more people's attention.

Now ~www.wuxiaspot.com~ What Embiid needs is just an opportunity and a strong enough opponent!

Memphis Grizzlies and Link seem to be the best candidates and springboards.

Bamotte believes that as long as Embiid can play against the Grizzlies, his popularity will continue to soar!

It can even be said that the game against the Grizzlies is likely to be a turning point in Embiid's career and the starting point for his "one goal fame".

If Embiid can win, then the next day, basketball fans all over the world will know the name Jon Embiid!

Bamotte knows the strength of Link and Grizzlies better than anyone. After all, he and the Clippers had just been bloodbathed.

But for Embiid, Bamot is confident.

It is as if he firmly believed that Embiid would be selected with the first pick in the first round.

That guy, but a real genius.

On November 23, the 76ers will play against the Grizzlies at home.

And before that, Embiid still has a long time to prepare.

Therefore, in this recent period, Bamot is not only concerned about Embiid, but also particularly concerned about the Grizzlies.

What shocked Bamotte was that the Grizzlies continued to beat the Blazers on November 7th, and their winning streak almost leveled the entire league.

The excellent state of the Grizzlies is quite unfavorable for the 76ers.

But just before the Grizzlies and 76ers game began, Ba Motte got good news.

Grizzlies main center Mark Gasol has been suspended.
