Sin and Virtue System

83. Either do or die!

[Refer to Chapter 67 Another Sin…?]

[Logan's POV]

My cards were folded until the very end and I kept my raging mind under control to not take any irrational action.

The enemy was stronger than I expected but I wasn't weak either.

I had learned from my past mistakes. Using my body as bait, I waited for the right opportunity and let that guy attack me with his strongest attack.

This was it, either do or die!

[Narrator's POV]

"You won't get away with this filthy demon!" Kevin roared.

His grip on his spear tightened as he noticed Logan's arrogant posture.

Even after Logan had lost his left arm; his imbalanced body showed no sign of weakness.

With a broken horn and a torn wing, his shape looked imperfect.

He had run out of mana a while ago, and the recovery rate wasn't noteworthy either.

His body movements were sluggish and his attack did not land on Kevin. Yet… Logan stood arrogantly in front of Kevin.

<Disrespectful pest.> Michael resentment raised.

Logan's every punch, kick, or sword swing contained more energy than before.

'What is this demon?' Kevin questioned. From his consciousness, he could feel Michael's rising anger.

However, Michael, who was in charge of Kevin's body, did not answer.

<I hate this type of demon!> The time had slowed down around him and Logan. The fire burning the forest and Kevin's eyes in anger had the same color, red.

It had been only a few minutes, but the distraught in Kevin's eyes, the impatience to get rid of Logan, and the increasing hatred felt good to Logan.

Logan had resisted Kevin's attacks, however, the more he did the fiercer they became. Logan knew that his resistance won't last long.

His hidden trump card had some requirements and Logan had to be patient to fulfill those requirements.

'The illusion by my <World collapse> died quicker than I assumed. Tsk, no point in reminiscing.' Logan was reminiscing over some of his actions.

'Well, whatever.'

Logan was similar to a cockroach.

No matter how hard you hit it, it still won't die.

"Michael, your time is running out." Kevin reminded Michael.

After the massacre and Michael's interference, <Michael Descends> had too many restrictions.

His time was very limited and Michael was bound to not use any heavily mana-consuming spells. Kevin's body was not strong enough to handle them.

<Michael has already used "Blind" once. Another strong spell and Kevin's body won't handle it. However, letting this demon live is very dangerous as well. We are out of options.>

Michael furiously swung the golden spear in his hands.

Any living body was a vessel.

Kevin's body was not a weak vessel. However, strong spells consumed heavy mana, causing the body to exhaust and heat up quickly.

If overdone, it'll simply break the vessel.

Meaning, death.

Weak attacks did not work on Logan and as if he had infinite stamina, Logan dodged many critical attacks without a sign of exhaustion.

'I am pretty sure this increase in stamina is because of my crazy sex drives.' Logan was happy about this discovery. Every second was important for his survival and good stamina was like a reassurance to this.

"What is your name? I haven't heard you were coming too." Logan inquired.

"What would a filthy demon like you would do after knowing Mich-Kevin's name?" Michael answered without giving it a second thought.

Kevin facepalmed inside his consciousness when he heard Michael's response.

Logan was happy, he just brought some time.

"Let me go with five of my subordinates, and I won't come back to this place," Logan smirked and changed the subject.

The slight disruption of mana around Kevin did not go unnoticed by Logan.

"Aren't you a pride demon? Your actions contradict that arrogance." Michael sneered.

Logan pulled something out of his inventory.

Michael was stunned when he saw the thing pop out without any disturbance in Logan's surroundings.

He completely ignored the object in Logan's hand and a look of disbelief appeared on his face.

'Why is he so shocked?' It was a simple-looking device, but it wasn't simple in the least.

Michael's eyes widened.

It looked like a mana bomb, but much more compressed than any he had ever seen.

It was a bomb Logan had received a long ago from Adelio.

"H-how? Where did you bring that thing from, without any disturbance in the space?" Michael asked.

It was the first time Michael was left- speechless.

"I am glad you liked it." Logan did not wait and just like earlier, he threw the mana bomb at Kevin.

"You are insolent-" But before Michael could say anything, his body felt bound by something.

<Bound(demonic)>

Michael's body froze in utter horror.

Time limit: 35 seconds.

35 seconds was too quick, for anything. However, for Michael, it felt like an eternity.

Suddenly, Logan pulled a shining red blade out of thin air.

'T-that sword!' Michael's entire existence shrieked as he saw that sword.

First the mana bomb and now the sword.

If the mana bomb were to injure him, the sword would kill him!

Time remaining: 32 seconds.

The grenade floated in the air, it started absorbing the nearby mana. It was a special grenade that Adelio had used to kill the demoness in the dungeon.

This grenade took time before the explosion.

Logan followed the grenade and approached Michael with all the energy he could muster.

Time remaining: 29 seconds.

His steps were slow and there was no strength in his sword attack.

<Michael needs to do something!!!> Kevin panicked from inside.

Time remaining: 25 seconds.

As Logan's foot got closer, Kevin's heart started beating out loud.

It would be an understatement to say that Michael was scared. He was horrified.

His moments were completely restricted. His mana, spirit energy, and even his blood stopped flowing.

Time remaining: 22 seconds.

Logan was ten to twelve steps away from Michael.

Though he was running at full speed, his exhausted body could not make it faster.

Time remaining: 20 seconds.

Logan's sword started shining. It was Logan's signature move:<Spiritual Sword>.

Time remaining: 16 seconds.

The mana bomb was ticking as well. It was high in the air.

A beautiful arc of red light appeared in the void.

Michael was sweating profusely.

It was obvious that panic had taken control over him.

Time remaining: 13 seconds.

The sword slash kept getting closer.

Logan's eyes were fixated on frozen Kevin and he did not look around.

But someone spotted Logan, running toward Kevin. It was Robert.

Time remaining: 11 seconds.

His sword slash was a few inches away from Kevin.

The moment it touched Kevin, his death was inevitable.

Time remaining: 10 seconds.

A small smile appeared on Logan's face.

It was time for the lead actor of this play, and the one who was the reason for all of this to appear.

"Kheu Kkk!"

Robert took the <Spiritual Sword> one on one.

Logan smirked and backed away, leaving Robert to cry in pain.

Time remaining: 8 seconds.

Boom!

The mana bomb reached down and exploded.

Time remaining:0

35 seconds might look like enough to deal with anyone who is completely stationary, however, it was impossible to do if the body was over-exhausted.

Just before the mana bomb touched Michael's, a Robert used himself as a shield and covered Kevin.

Robert was the King's first knight.

His first duty was to protect his king and so he did.

Using his best defense technique possible, Robert jumped in between and faced both, <Spiritual sword> and a mana bomb.

However, his interference was a second late.

Logan had achieved his purpose, the miasma imbued in the sword as well as in the mana bomb entered Kevin's body.

The mana near Kevin exploded. A charred man fall on the ground, it was Robert.

Michael did not care for Robert. However, the amount of stress Michael had faced in these few seconds was like an eternal torment to him.

And it was his trigger point. The golden spear in his hand radiated.

"I WILL KILL YOU!!!! DIEEEE!" He shouted at the top of his lungs.

Without caring about Kevin's body and using his strongest attack, Michael launched the spear in his hands.

Suii-

The spear traveled in the air.

'It's time.'

As the spear came closer to Logan, it multiplied in numbers.

One, two four! It multiplied and four spears consecutively flew toward Logan.

Logan closed his eyes.

In front of his closed eyes, images popped up.

Lara, Lisa, Anna, and Ilisha.

'Yeah… Now I am satisfied.'

The spears were just an inch away from Logan when he opened his eyes and shouted,

<Random teleport!!!>

SWOOSH!

A white light illuminated the entire forest.

Anna, Lisa, Lara, and Ilisha who were fighting were covered by the same light.

"You are not going anywhere!" A female shouted.

Before any demon or Black Lotus could react, the entire forest turned eerily silent.

"NOOOOOOOOO!" Only to be followed by Michael's furious cry and thereafter a cry filled with pain and agony.

"ARGHHHHHH!"

Kevin's body churned as he growled in pain.

[Logan's POV]

The golden spears were painful, and I had already faced them once before. But this time, I had the plan to share some of my pain.

Therefore I used something worth that'll satisfy me.

Putting <Bound> a unique ranked spell on the black hair guy, I made him lose his temper.

But as I expected, it was nearly impossible to hit him with my low strength. That's when I brought the mana bomb.

As for the spears, well I let them get closer and then used my power of <Random Teleport> and one of the perks I had received after purchasing the sin of [Envy]: <Sharing is Caring>.

I am glad that day I spun the wheel.

Haaa… I [Envy] myself. Even though earlier I had the strength, I did not use it.

But well, now what? Bygones are bygones.

I am happy with this outcome- or so I thought

Sharing is Caring: (Unique) ranked Passive skill.

The host can reflect 50% of the damage achieved if and only if the host's health is below 15 points. The attacker will receive 50% of the damage caused to the host.

After all, Pain is better when shared.

I was finally freed from all that mess.

"Thank you very much system." I thanked the system.

However, there was no response.

Maybe because I was still in the transit of teleportation?

'But… isn't it taking too long to answer?' I thought.

Things were not as usual.

System?

Hello?

System?

I called but no response.

It was then that I heard.

Car- Crack.

A cracking sound.

And just like many times in the past, a blinding light blinded my eyesight.
