Stupid Odin

#71 - Judgement of the Wolf Fenrir (Part 2)

Loki would rather he didn't understand: "Your Majesty, are you mistaken about something?"

"Look at the prophecy!" A beam of illusory light entered Loki's brow.

After Loki finished watching, his heart was completely cold: My son destroyed Asgard and killed Odin?

The boundary of this prophetic image had the characteristic blur of the prophetic illusion, but that wasn't important.

The gods and people all knew that Thanes had the divine duty of [Prophecy], and his throne in the Silver Palace even had magic that allowed him to glimpse fragments of the past and future.

The gods and people also believed that this was the reason for Thanes's brilliant rule over the Nine Realms.

How could one stop a god-king who firmly believed in the power of prophecy from deciding to kill an infant?

At this moment, the gods and giants had already begun to clamor.

"Loki! Kill it, and just have another one."

"This little bastard is vicious and brutal and can't be tamed."

"Speaking of which, you're a giant! How did you give birth to a wolf?"

Their agitated curses turned into invisible sharp swords, piercing Loki's chest, causing him immense pain.

Loki still tried his best to make a final struggle: "No! Your Majesty! [Prophecy] is not [Fate]. A prophecy is a possibility, it doesn't necessarily have to happen. It's unfair to decide the life and death of an excellent offspring based on a vague prophecy!"

"Since the future has already been foreseen, what's the point of talking about fairness?" Thor interrupted Loki impatiently; he had never had a good impression of this uncle-like distant relative.

He had been tricked by Loki when he was very young, and Sif had also been bullied after he grew up. Thor really couldn't wait for Loki to die.

Unexpectedly, Thanes stopped Thor from continuing: "Fool! Thor, shut up."

"Uh, yes, Father God!" Although Thor was unconvinced, he still obeyed Thanes's order and stepped aside.

Thanes raised his hand, raising his fingers one by one until the third one.

"Since I took office as the God-King, in addition to leading the gods and giants, I also shoulder the important task of educating mortals. But why do you all trust me? Have you ever thought about it?"

These god-level barbarians were immediately stumped.

Thanes continued: "Nothing else. I only have three principles in dealing with things—fairness! Fairness! And still fucking fairness!"

The words were rough, but the principle was sound!

It was just right for these god-level barbarians, whose intelligence was generally not very high.

Thanes set the rules, and he took the lead in following them, and he also wanted all beings to abide by them, and he never broke his word.

This is the key to everyone's trust in him!

With Thanes's scolding, the hall suddenly became quiet, listening to his arrangements.

"How about this, let's do a controlled experiment. If there is a real problem, everyone will know at a glance. Which Asgardian god has a newborn child? A giant must also have one."

Before long, an Asgardian god child who had just turned one month old and a giant who had just been born were brought to the Golden Palace Hall.

At this time, there were three groups of chaotic aura the size of fingernails, wrapped in Frey's sunlight divine power, suspended in mid-air.

Sitting high on the God-King's throne, Thanes's voice was like the final verdict of a judge: "Loki, make your choice. Who should these three groups of chaotic aura contaminate? Don't worry, if they aren't the seedlings of chaos, they will only be seriously ill for two days at most after being contaminated with this little bit of aura."

Loki, did he still have a choice?

Right behind him, on the left and right, Thor held his [Mjolnir], and Frey's hand was on the hilt of the [Sword of Victory].

Loki was forced to choose.

Three groups of chaotic power entered three bodies.

As expected, the Asgardian god child coughed violently, crying and making noise; although the giant child looked stronger, he seemed to be more affected and wailed in pain; only Fenrir had the greatest reaction.

This was no longer a reaction, it was a change.

The little wolf cub raised its neck and howled, making a sound that shocked the hearts of the gods and giants.

It could be seen that the bones of its entire body made a series of continuous explosions, and its body grew larger like it was being inflated. In just a few breaths, it had changed from the size of an ordinary adult medium-sized dog to the size of a tiger. Its limbs and claws became sharper and easily tore apart the golden floor tiles in the hall.

The Valkyrie Herrokk, who was closer to it, subconsciously drew her sword, but before the sword was even half-drawn, Fenrir turned into a black shadow and took the initiative to bite down on Herrokk's head.

Fenrir's movements were too fast, and even the Valkyrie, who had been bestowed with divine blood and possessed a demigod body, was unable to completely dodge this attack.

Her body dodged, but the dense and solid scales between the arm armor and shoulder armor were lightly scraped by Fenrir's sharp teeth, and large pieces of the scales had been broken inch by inch, revealing a blood-stained arm.

"Beast! How dare you!" Thor hurriedly took action, smashing Fenrir with a hammer until he was dizzy and fell back to Loki's feet.

The young Fenrir suddenly encountered a dimension-reducing blow and instinctively sought his father's protection, trying to shrink between Loki's feet. The ridiculous thing was that he was unaware of his increased size and actually knocked Loki, who was only 'a mere' five meters tall, flying.

Loki climbed up from the ground in a sorry state, looked at Fenrir, who showed a pure and puzzled look at him, touched the lowered head of Fenrir with infinite love, and turned to look at Thanes.

Thanes truly saw the sorrow and despair in Loki's eyes.

"Your Majesty, is this one of the two lives I owe you, as you said?"

Loki was very smart.

He was too smart!

In an instant, he figured out all the key points—since Thanes had the ability to predict, he must have foreseen all of this long ago, so he let him, Loki, court death, so that he would owe two lives.

The dignified God-King actually deliberately dug a hole for him, Loki, to jump into?!

This feeling was terrible.

Loki was both sad and angry!

He clenched his fists, his teeth chattering, but in the entire hall, no god or giant was willing to speak for him.

This was the price he had paid for doing all kinds of bad things in recent years.

The hateful thing was that Odin, whom he trusted the most, was also not there.

Now he was the piece of meat on the chopping board, to be chopped by Thanes as he pleased!

Unexpectedly, facing the accusation, Thanes did not evade, nor did he quibble. He replied to Loki's question in a deep voice: "Use your words to return to you—[Prophecy] is not [Fate]. A prophecy is a possibility, it doesn't necessarily have to happen."

As soon as Loki heard this, the blood drained from his face.

This was exactly his point!

No matter how good he was at quibbling, could he openly object to what he had said?

His voice was full of sorrow, and he collapsed to the ground: "Since Your Majesty knew it all along, why didn't you do something?"

"I did. I failed. I failed to prevent the chaos from infecting your offspring… Go back and look at the Order Stone Slab under your new house, there is a [Giant's child must be a giant] in it!"

Even with Loki's good brain, he was completely dumbfounded at this moment.

The God-King foresaw everything, and tried his best to prevent it, and did it without hurting Loki's face, but he still fell for it.

Who the hell is to blame for this?

Loki lowered his head heavily, letting Thor and Frey, the two Asgardian gods, pass by him.

He heard his son Fenrir's call, it was saying 'Father, save me', but what could Loki do?

He couldn't do anything!

Endless guilt, remorse, and heartache surged into his heart, tormenting Loki's heart madly.

Then there was the violent thunder, a brilliant golden light, and Fenrir's tragic scream before his death!
