#530 - A battle between trapped beasts

Frank clenched his fists, guarding against the High Supreme Squadron's attacks while calculating how much energy remained in his Lantern Ring.

In the previous entanglement with Hyperion, only the two instances of spitting flames consumed a significant amount of energy. This was because, once equipped with the Red Lantern Ring, it would modify the host, replacing all the blood in the host's body with rage energy.

Therefore, when Frank spat flames, it was essentially directly ejecting the energy within his body, which naturally consumed more energy. However, this was also the strongest killing move for most Red Lanterns.

After all, the Red Lantern's flames could directly burn away the energy of other Lantern Rings, and even inflict considerable damage on a steel body like Superman's.

Frank roughly estimated that he probably had about 70%-80% of his energy left. If it were just against Hyperion alone, that might be enough, but facing the High Supreme Squadron with their diverse abilities would be a bit much.

He had to find a way to escape; getting entangled with these people would only let his real target get away.

In a few short seconds, Frank had already made up his mind, but the battlefield was constantly changing, and the High Supreme Squadron wouldn't stand still and wait for him to finish thinking.

Doctor Spectrum was the first to attack, possibly because he saw that the opponent had similar abilities to his own. He raised his right hand with the prism, and as the transparent crystal shimmered, colorful energy gathered in the air and rushed towards Frank in the sky.

The colorful energy transformed into a giant hand, and Doctor Spectrum wanted to knock Frank out of the sky like swatting a bug. Seeing this, Frank also refused to be outdone, raising his left hand with the Red Lantern Ring, and a red light cone appeared directly above Frank, piercing a hole through the hand.

In just a brief exchange, Doctor Spectrum could see that the energy used by the person in front of him was much more overbearing than his own. In a head-on confrontation, his energy couldn't even overcome the opponent's temporary counterattack.

However, this didn't make Doctor Spectrum feel discouraged, because his attack was just a feint; the real killing move wasn't him.

Before Frank in the air could retract the light cone, a gust of cold wind came from behind him. Turning around quickly, Frank only saw a flash of cold light in his peripheral vision.

"Clang!"

A sword struck Frank's arm directly. Power Princess clicked her tongue in dissatisfaction. Her sword was originally aimed at Frank's neck, but she didn't expect his reaction speed to be so fast, actually using his arm to block her killing move.

However, her move wasn't entirely without success. Power Princess's sword still cut open Frank's skin and got stuck in his flesh, and scarlet blood was about to flow out.

However, contrary to Power Princess's expectations, there was indeed something flowing from Frank's wound, but it wasn't blood. Instead, it was a viscous, scarlet flame. This blood-like flame continuously seeped out of the wound, flowing towards Power Princess along the sword.

The scarlet flame hadn't even spread to Power Princess's body yet, but the scorching heat had already made her feel a burning pain. The metal sword was burned red in the blink of an eye, and Power Princess had no choice but to let go of the sword due to the astonishing heat it emitted.

But Power Princess's attack didn't stop there. She raised her left hand, which was bound with a shield, and smashed it straight into Frank's head.

Frank, for some reason, didn't defend, just staring blankly at the wound on his forearm until the shield hit his face, causing him to grunt and fly backwards towards the ground.

Frank's fall to the ground kicked up dust. The Flash knew his chance had come. Although he didn't have powerful vision like Hyperion, which could see through all obstacles, he had absolute confidence in his speed.

In his opinion, Frank couldn't catch him before, and now that he was injured, it was even more impossible.

The unstoppable Flash rushed into the smoke, and the remaining people didn't even have time to speak to stop him. Just as they were about to open their mouths, the Flash had already retreated from the smoke.

Did the Flash really succeed? Even Hyperion was surprised, until they saw the Flash fall to the ground in a very disheveled state.

"His legs!" Doctor Spectrum was the first to exclaim. Before he could call out, Hyperion had already rushed to the Flash's side, and his eyes emitted orange-yellow light. The atomic rays were aimed at nothing other than the Flash's legs.

The legs that the Flash was so proud of were now in a terrible state. Scarlet flames completely enveloped them, and the things inside were now turned into black charcoal.

The flames spread very quickly, spreading from the ankles to the calves in the blink of an eye. In order to save the Flash's life, Hyperion had no choice but to cut off both of his calves.

The flames that had lost combustible material were still active even when they touched the soil. They represented one of the simplest emotions in the world—anger. As long as Frank's anger didn't die out, these flames would burn everything in the world.

In order to prevent the flames from causing secondary damage to the Flash, Hyperion hugged the unconscious Flash, who had lost his ability to fight, and retreated to a safe distance, instructing Doctor Spectrum to watch over him and contact someone to pick him up and take him for treatment.

When Hyperion shifted his gaze back to Frank, the latter had reappeared in everyone's vision from the dust that obscured their view, but his new appearance horrified all the heroes present.

Frank was wearing a suit of armor made of red energy, but this armor wasn't to protect him, but rather to harm him.

Because the red energy was translucent, everyone could see the internal structure clearly. The lining of the armor was covered with spikes of varying sizes, and these spikes were deeply embedded in Frank's body.

Not only that, these spikes seemed to have blood-sucking grooves. While piercing Frank's body, they would also suck out the viscous flames stored in his body, and then flow out from the holes on the surface of the armor.

At this time, a pool of blood had already gathered at Frank's feet, even submerging Frank's ankles. This was probably why the Flash's legs were entangled by the flames. Fortunately, he was fast enough to run out before the flames completely burned his legs.

Seeing Frank at this time, the crowd was not thinking about how to deal with Frank at this time, but what was driving him to do this. Even if this self-mutilating fighting style was really tough, so what?

Was all of this really worth it?

"Come..." Frank's voice was hoarse, but the quiet environment didn't prevent everyone from hearing his voice.

"Who else! Wants to taste! My rage!"
