#28 - Chapter 28: Desperate Struggle (Part 3)
"Clang!" A surge of immense force struck, sending Liu Yuan flying. The attribute suppression was too severe; Liu Yuan estimated that his strength alone was more than doubled, achieving a crushing effect. Fortunately, he had made a move to dissipate some of the force, otherwise, his arms might have been broken. Even so, he didn't feel good, having been knocked back six or seven meters before crashing heavily into a carriage.
The tall bandit knight grabbed a servant's head, lifting him up. As he gradually increased the pressure, the man began to wail. "Crack!" He crushed his skull. Seeing such brutality, the remaining servant collapsed to the ground in terror. The bandit knight raised his greatsword and slowly pierced his neck, the blade forced in by its own weight.
This cruel fellow was "Big Belly" Benn, a notorious member of the Kingswood Brotherhood. He was a formidable fighter, having participated in the recent Kingswood campaign. Lord Sumner Crakehall had also fought in that battle, with Jaime Lannister as his squire at the time.
Jaime had fought hard to rescue Lord Crakehall from Benn's grasp, saving him from having his head smashed in, but Jaime had failed to capture Benn. No one knew how these Brotherhood thugs had crossed the Blackwater Rush and made it to the North. The main purpose of this attack on the Cettigar family's party was to plunder supplies. They had coerced nearby mountain clans, using them to draw away the main force of the family's guards.
After killing the two servants, Benn turned his attention to Liu Yuan. He strode over and kicked out. Liu Yuan ducked and rolled to the left, the kick shattering a wooden wheel. Seeing that he had missed, Benn became intrigued, turned, and swung his left hand forcefully. Liu Yuan quickly stopped his movement, the shield passing just in front of his nose. Knowing he couldn't continue like this, he twisted his hands and disassembled the spear shaft into two sections, then swung them backhand with force. The shaft struck Benn's hamstring, causing him to lose his balance and stumble forward.
Benn was somewhat surprised; he genuinely hadn't expected the child to counterattack. It felt like trying to pet a kitten that was only a few months old and getting bitten – not painful, but unexpected. Benn grinned, "Heh, little one. You've got some guts. I admire that." He dropped his shield, twirled his sword a few times, and then walked towards Liu Yuan again.
Liu Yuan used that moment to run back a few steps, creating distance from the humanoid monster. He reattached the spearhead to the shaft, gripped it tightly with both hands, and adopted a horse stance, readying his spear. The spear's length was 164 centimeters, a length he could wield freely given his current height.
Liu Yuan thrust his spear, but Benn tilted his head slightly and dodged it.
"Swish, swish, swish!" Three consecutive thrusts were all casually evaded by Benn. Liu Yuan's heart sank; the situation he feared most had come to pass. This iron can might seem clumsy, but in terms of attributes, he completely outclassed him, even his agility was higher.
Liu Yuan had no choice but to retreat, using thrusts to keep the iron can at bay. He constantly scanned his surroundings, looking for a suitable location to counterattack. Looking around, his heart grew even colder. From his vantage point, he could see that the guards and servants had been scattered.
Possibly due to time constraints, the bandits didn't continue to pursue the fleeing servants, instead rummaging through the carriages for valuables. Several bandits were already heading this way, and even worse, another iron can was among them.
To survive, he had to fight with everything he had. He thrust his spear, using "Azure Dragon's Claw" to strike his opponent's arm. Benn raised his greatsword and deflected the spear tip. Liu Yuan used the force to chop down, slamming the spear shaft against the sword's body, then swung the spear horizontally at Benn's face. Benn hurriedly dodged, but still didn't completely avoid it, the spear tip leaving a deep scratch on his helmet and visor. This was what Liu Yuan hated most about these iron cans – their skin was too thick, making it difficult to penetrate their defenses even with a sharp weapon.
Benn gripped his sword with both hands and thrust upwards, using all his strength under the stimulation. The greatsword plowed a deep furrow in the ground, a cloud of dust obscuring vision. Liu Yuan took advantage of this opportunity to leap into the air, gripping his spear in reverse and stabbing down at his head.
Benn reacted very quickly, taking half a step back in haste. That was enough to evade the fatal blow; the spear tip scraped against the breastplate and pierced his wide abdominal armor, the spear itself being an armor-piercing weapon, easily penetrating the upper armor. It tore a wound two fingers deep and a palm long on Benn's belly, and blood immediately seeped out.
Suddenly suffering a significant injury, Benn frantically waved his arms, the distance was too close. He didn't even have time to use the sword in his hand, and just swung it over. Before Liu Yuan could land, an iron arm had already struck him hard, in haste, he could only grab the spear shaft to block.
"Clang!" Under the clash of metal, Liu Yuan was knocked away again, his ribs almost broken.
Benn reached out and touched the wound on his belly. Fortunately, his nickname was "Big Belly" Benn. The fat on his belly was really thick, otherwise, this blow would have definitely disemboweled him. But he was immediately enraged, grabbing a chair from the side of the carriage and throwing it hard.
Liu Yuan felt like he had been in a car accident, feeling dizzy and nauseous, and then saw the heavy chair spinning towards him. Liu Yuan hurriedly threw himself to the left, the chair smashing into the ground and shattering into pieces, the broken wooden strips hitting his back, causing another wave of dizziness.
"Clang, clang, clang." Benn, encased in iron, charged like a tank, raising his greatsword and hacking down with force without a word. Liu Yuan hurriedly扑向 the other side again, and in the confusion, he crashed into an overturned carriage. Benn swung his sword backhand and shattered the side of the carriage, seeing Liu Yuan roll to his feet. He raised his right leg and stomped down hard, his iron-armored foot creating a shallow pit in the ground. Liu Yuan quickly dodged to the left, the power of this foot was truly amazing! Liu Yuan was actually bounced up by the vibration of the ground.
Liu Yuan's eyes narrowed, this was a rare opportunity. As he rolled over, he detached the spearhead, staring at Benn's big foot, and thrust it down hard with his backhand. The spearhead pierced through the iron-armored boot and impaled Benn's right foot, pinning him firmly to the ground.
Then he quickly rolled away, followed by Benn's screams and roars. In his rage, he wildly swung his arms around, even throwing away his greatsword. If Liu Yuan hadn't dodged just now, he would have definitely been hit by his wild flailing.
