The Little Superman of Hogwarts
#186 - Chapter 186 [Strange Prophecy]
"Welcome to Divination!" Professor Trelawney said, sitting in a winged armchair in front of the fireplace. "I am Professor Trelawney, you may not have seen me before. I find that too frequent descent into the hustle and bustle of school life obscures my inner eye."
No one said anything to such an unusual declaration. Professor Trelawney carefully rearranged her shawl and continued: "You have chosen Divination, the most difficult of all magical arts. I must warn you from the outset: if you do not possess 'the Sight,' there is little I can teach you. Books can only take you so far in this regard..."
These words, in essence, meant one thing: I've already sized you up at the door. If you're eloquent, you might get a bit more meat; if not, don't expect anything.
Klee thoroughly disliked Divination, because it was obvious that Divination was something wizards accomplished through their own intuition. But how much intuition could these lower-year students possess? Now Klee could confidently say that his intuition was almost godlike; whatever he felt was going to happen would definitely happen.
This lesson was full of oddities, seeming like a grand neurotic lecturing a bunch of minor neurotics.
The teacher of this course, Professor Trelawney, had reportedly clashed with countless senior wizards and other teachers.
This boring Divination class continued for a while. Perhaps the teacher had prepared for too long, as she didn't even finish half of the content.
Halfway through the lesson, Klee suddenly noticed something was off...
This Professor Trelawney was clearly one of the worst teachers in all the courses, except for Defense Against the Dark Arts. However, in the original work, many of her prophecies actually came true, and they weren't vague, but very specific and clear.
As in the original story, Harry and Ron once again offended the professor, and the two were given individual readings.
Of course, the final results were quite terrifying.
"The club... an attack. Dear, dear, this is not a fortunate cup... I thought it was a bowler hat," Ron said uneasily.
"The skull... danger ahead, my dear..." Everyone stared in stunned silence as Professor Trelawney turned the teacup again, gasped, and then screamed. Another sound of breaking china echoed as Neville smashed his second cup. Professor Trelawney sank into an empty armchair, her glittering hand fluttering over her heart, eyes tightly shut.
"My dear child—my poor, dear child—no—better not to say—no—don't ask me..."
Judging by her enthusiasm in class, she should be very powerful. Klee gloated as he looked at Harry and Ron.
But soon it was Klee's turn. Klee brewed a pot of tea with tea leaves and then tried to divine using the composition of the tea leaves. Professor Trelawney walked over to Klee, her eyes darting around, wondering what she was thinking.
Klee also had absolutely no interest in his divination. In his opinion, the divination described in this book was of no use at all.
Only the intuition possessed by some advanced magicians with deep magical understanding could be called true divination.
Crystal balls, tea leaves, and the like were obviously external objects; they were merely tools to amplify the inner feelings and intuition.
After taking Klee's tea leaves, the female professor first gasped softly, then widened her eyes and stared intently at the empty teacup.
"Merlin above! What do I see!" Trelawney exclaimed.
"You will become the child of the era, the greatest figure in this world! But in reality, you are a fraud, you deceive everyone in this world!"
Klee looked thoughtful, it seemed that this professor did have something. But her so-called divination was not true divination, but some effective predictions based on strong material intuition.
However, Klee didn't understand the professor's last words. [Why would I become a fraud?]
Hermione covered her mouth and laughed as she listened to this. Ms. Trelawney also performed a divination for Hermione, and the result was indeed the same as for Harry Potter—summed up in one sentence—"You will face death!"
Hermione shook her head, indicating disbelief.
"I think today's class will end here!" Professor Trelawney said in her most ethereal voice, "Please pack up your things..."
The entire class silently returned their teacups to Professor Trelawney, closed their books, and packed their bags. Even Ron didn't dare to look the professor in the eye. Klee looked at this strange and peculiar professor with a mischievous gaze; he always felt that this professor had some problems.
The class after Divination was Professor McGonagall's class.
The following content was unremarkable, but seeing Ron's dying expression, Professor McGonagall couldn't help but inquire about the details. After learning about the previous class, Professor McGonagall said: "If in Divination class, the teacher starts predicting how a student will die, as Deputy Headmistress, I hope all students will not take it to heart!"
Subsequently, Professor McGonagall showed all the young wizards the performance of the Divination professor over the past year, and finally concluded with: "Divination, I think you'd better not listen. At least, reserve your own opinions."
When leaving the castle after lunch, the rain had stopped, the sky was clear and light gray, and the grass underfoot was soft and moist. Then they went to their first Care of Magical Creatures class.
Clearly, this would be Hagrid's breakthrough; his first class after becoming a professor.
In this class, the Gryffindors would be taking the class together with the Slytherin wizards.
There was one person in Slytherin who seemed very special, and that was Malfoy.
His gaze was somewhat dull, seemingly still in some terrifying memory. Only Blaise was left as his sidekick.
Hagrid was waiting for his students by the hut door. He was wearing a moleskin coat, and Fang the boarhound was at his feet, seemingly eager to set off. "Come on, hurry, hurry!!" he called as the students approached.
"There's good stuff in store for you! A great lesson is about to begin! Is everyone here? Good, follow me!"
For a moment, there was an uncomfortable feeling as the students thought Hagrid was going to lead them into the forest.
Because of the spiders, everyone was fearful of the forest; those terrible spiders were unforgettable. However, Hagrid only led them along the edge of the forest, and five minutes later, they were already outside an enclosure-like area where there was nothing.
