The Second Empire of Azeroth
#159 - The Frozen Throne
Ymiron looked at the broken Frostmourne in disbelief. Wasn't Frostmourne supposed to be powerful? Why was it broken by an unknown weapon?
Clearly, Ymiron hadn't studied history well. But it's no wonder, since he was created by the Forge of Wills and didn't experience the War of the Ancients, so he didn't know the great name of Thunderaan the Windlord.
Roger raised the Wind Sword, and countless lightning bolts, guided by the Wind Sword, struck Ymiron.
Having lost the protection of Frostmourne, Ymiron's strength was greatly reduced. Soon, Ymiron turned to ashes in the lightning.
Roger used magic to seal the two parts of Frostmourne separately and sent them to two different dimensions, so they could never be reunited.
Then, Roger entered Ymirheim and killed all the undead Vrykul.
The Knights of the Ebon Blade withdrew from Ymirheim, sealed all its entrances, and allowed this tomb of the Vrykul to return to peace.
The war ended, and the Knights of the Ebon Blade did not return to Utgarde Keep to rest. Instead, they went west to the western Howling Fjord. There, the Knights of the Ebon Blade were building a port, which was originally intended for exploring the western snowfields. Now that the biggest enemy in Howling Fjord had been resolved, Roger directly concentrated most of his forces here to avoid internal conflicts with the Yaungol and Tuskarr.
It was obviously not formed naturally!
The magical image was transmitted back to Valgarde, and Roger immediately led the Knights of the Ebon Blade north by ship.
Near an ancient road, the Knights of the Ebon Blade landed and advanced westward.
This ancient road was a relatively safe road scouted by the Proto-Dragon Knights, probably left by the Vrykul many years ago. Even if the road surface had been covered with snow for countless years, it could still be used. Along the road, they soon arrived at an ice valley. Because the solid ice on both sides refracted sunlight like crystals, it was called the Crystal Crack by the Knights of the Ebon Blade.
Walking in the Crystal Crack was nerve-wracking, fearing that these solid ice structures would suddenly collapse and bury everyone in the ice valley. However, the solid ice was more solid than everyone thought. Tens of thousands of years of freezing had made these ice blocks as hard as steel. Even if fire magic was cast on them, it would take some time to melt them.
After passing through the Crystal Crack and continuing forward, they arrived at the steel gate discovered by the Proto-Dragon Knights.
Behind the steel gate were continuous mountains, and at the very top of the mountains was the bright, reflective ice mountain.
This was the Icecrown Citadel made by the Dreadlords? It was too perfunctory.
Roger rode a Proto-Dragon into the sky, raised the Wind Sword, and summoned lightning to bombard the ice mountain.
"Rumble—"
The ice mountain collapsed, and beneath the ice mountain, a huge fel shield blocked the broken ice, sliding towards the surrounding peaks and triggering an avalanche. The ice, carrying snow, rushed down from the sky, directly collapsing the steel gate and rushing towards the Knights of the Ebon Blade.
However, the Knights of the Ebon Blade were already prepared. They had already hidden on the mountainsides on both sides. The avalanche did not cause them any losses, but the road ahead was a little difficult to travel.
Hundreds of Proto-Dragons flew towards the fel shield. Khadgar keenly sensed the creatures inside, "It's the Dreadlords. They actually built a secret base here."
"I'm afraid it's more than that!" Roger looked at the intact Frozen Throne inside the shield. "Perhaps they are here to monitor the Lich King."
"Where is the Lich King?" Arthas asked quickly.
Roger pointed to the ice peak inside the shield. "Do you see that sharp ice peak? In the ice at the very top, there is a set of black armor. I sensed powerful mind magic on the armor. If I'm not mistaken, it's the Lich King!"
Arthas clenched the Demon Hand, and flames rose, quickly enveloping him and the Proto-Dragon, like a meteor crashing into the fel shield.
Watching Arthas's reckless behavior, Roger gently shook his head. Obviously, this prince was still blinded by hatred.
However, Roger would not watch Arthas take risks. Using counter-magic, he destroyed the fel shield first.
"Boom—"
The Proto-Dragon crashed into the Frozen Throne, and flames suddenly burst out, covering the top of the ice peak.
"Lich King, I'm here to avenge you!"
"Stop!" Several balls of fel energy exploded in the flames, dispelling the flames and blocking Arthas's attack.
Despite using the Demon Hand, Arthas was obviously no match for the Dreadlords. However, just as the Dreadlords were about to kill Arthas, several spells blocked the Dreadlords' attacks. Roger descended from the sky, "You guys are really promising, a few of you bullying a kid together?"
The Dreadlords looked at Roger warily. They already knew about Mal'Ganis's death. If it weren't for the fact that they still had an important task to perform, they would have run away just now.
Roger stretched out his hand, and a barrier enveloped him and the Dreadlords. He turned to look at Arthas, "Go fulfill your mission!"
Arthas nodded, bypassed the barrier, and walked towards the Frozen Throne.
The Dreadlords exchanged glances. Two rushed towards Roger, trying to restrain him, while the other two began to attack the barrier, trying to rush past and stop Arthas. The Lich King was very powerful, but that was reflected in controlling the undead. He himself did not have much combat ability.
However, the Dreadlords still underestimated Roger. Roger took out the Wind Sword and the Fire Sword. Lightning and flames raged within the barrier, instantly dragging the Dreadlords into the battle, and they had no time to attack the barrier. Not only that, but the Dreadlords discovered while fighting that the four of them combined were not as good as Roger alone.
Soon, one of the Dreadlords was killed by lightning full of divine power, and the bat he transformed into before his death was also swallowed by the滔天烈焰(滔天烈焰 is not directly translatable, but it means overwhelming flames). Lacking a helper, the other three Dreadlords were even less of a match for Roger, and Roger quickly eliminated them.
[The Grandmaster at Arms has been upgraded to level 70...]
Roger removed the barrier and happened to see Arthas smashing the Frozen Throne with a hammer.
"Boom—"
Under countless flames, the solid ice shattered, and the Helm of Domination fell to the ground.
Arthas looked at the Helm of Domination and reached out to pick it up, but at this moment, the Helm of Domination suddenly flew away.
"What?"
Arthas looked at Roger in confusion. Roger casually set a seal on the Helm of Domination, "Arthas, this is not something you can control."
