The Second Empire of Azeroth

#29 - Return to Karazhan

After dealing with the wolf riders, the orcs in Duskwood were no longer a threat.

B Company spent an hour clearing out the orcs in Duskwood.

After the battle, Roger allowed the soldiers to rest.

In this battle, Roger's hunter class leveled up twice, and he used the two skill points to upgrade 'Marksman'.

Marksman (Mastery): Range increased by 40%, accuracy increased by 40%, attack power increased by 40%.

After eating something, drinking some water, and digesting a bit, Roger made a tactical deployment.

"John, I need you to stay in Duskwood. This gold is very important to us. With it, we can fight for a longer time."

John was a little reluctant, "What about you? Roger."

"I'm going to Karazhan!" Roger said, "Lady Aegwynn has regained control of Karazhan. Now it is the only safe place in the Stormwind Kingdom. Likewise, it is also the place where you can get the most magical items. Our current equipment is not strong enough. Dealing with ordinary orcs is okay, but against those powerful orcs, especially orc spellcasters, we can only run away."

"Last time I was lucky enough to escape from Talon Bloodweaver's hands, but that doesn't mean I can escape next time."

John was silent. He knew that Roger's concerns were very reasonable. B Company's combat strength was strong, but that was against ordinary orcs. If there were orc powerhouses, not to mention orc spellcasters, even a Blademaster would be too much for them.

So, the two split up.

"Madam, what's wrong with you?"

Aegwynn shook her head gently, "You wouldn't understand magical things. Tell me your purpose! What did Lothar send you to Karazhan for?"

"Sir Lothar didn't send me!"

Amid Aegwynn's surprise, Roger told her the news of Stormwind's fall and Lothar's northward march.

"Are the orcs so powerful?"

Roger shook his head, "It's not that the orcs are powerful, but our own human problems."

Roger briefly told Aegwynn about the nobles and their private soldiers holding back, and then said, "Madam, I have come to Karazhan for reinforcements. We are in dire need of magical items now, otherwise we can only deal with ordinary orcs."

"I understand!" Aegwynn said, "But I am powerless now."

"What do you mean?"

Aegwynn said, "When I arrived at Karazhan, I discovered that there were serious problems here. In the underground of Karazhan, there is actually a mirror space exactly the same as Karazhan. That is where Medivh studied dark magic. The distorted energy seriously affected Karazhan. When Medivh died, a big explosion occurred in Karazhan. In the big explosion, the distorted energy was released into the sky outside Karazhan, forming a distorted space above. The distorted space has infiltrated some strange energy, which has affected the creatures inside Karazhan. Medivh's experimental products, even Moroes, have changed…"

"So, I can't help you much."

Roger opened his mouth. This was too coincidental!

However, he quickly thought that in the game, Karazhan eventually became a dungeon. Khadgar even opened Dalaran to the sky above Karazhan, wanting to seal the distorted space above Karazhan.

As a result, the Burning Legion teleported in several Fel battleships through the distorted space, almost blowing up Dalaran.

"Then… what can you help us with? Madam."

"Come with me!"

Aegwynn led Roger and others to a room, "Here are some of Medivh's collections. You can take everything here. Besides that, all I can help you with is knowledge."

With that, she took out a magic package, "Inside are some of my notes and some of Medivh's collection of books. I hope they will be useful to you."

Roger took the magic package. Compared to the collectibles in this room, the books were what he valued. However, he would not give up choosing collectibles either. He wanted both the fish and the bear's paw.

He took a fancy to a bow with an extremely cool shape, a fiery red bird-shaped bow. This was the famous Phoenix Bow.

Phoenix Sunstrider: Epic, shooting can enchant arrows with fire damage.

It looked like a weapon made by high elves, gorgeous in shape and powerful. Roger reached out and picked up the bow, and immediately felt a burning sensation.

Roger was very surprised. He felt that the bow in his hand seemed to have too much active energy.

"Swish!"

A large amount of red light emerged from the bow and flew towards Roger's pocket, which contained the arcane essence of the blue dragon.

"Ah--"

Arcanus appeared comfortably from the arcane essence, "Human, you finally found something to absorb--damn it, why are you still in Karazhan?"

The soldiers of B Company looked at the roaring blue dragon soul in astonishment. It was the first time they had seen a dragon.

Aegwynn was also very surprised, but she quickly reacted, "Arcanus? The blue dragon killed by Medivh?"

"Don't mention that bastard to me, you mortal--" Arcanus roared at Aegwynn, but when it saw Aegwynn clearly, it immediately swallowed the words that followed.

"Ae… Lady Aegwynn?"

Aegwynn looked at it with a half-smile, "Long time no see."

Arcanus immediately retreated to Roger's side. If hiding behind Roger didn't make it look too cowardly, it would definitely do so.

"Madam, do you know it?"

"Of course!" Aegwynn smiled, "I once saved its life. If it weren't for me, it would have died in the hands of demons long ago."

Roger knew that Aegwynn was talking about the blue dragons being slaughtered by demons and using their energy to summon Sargeras. Aegwynn killed all the demons, including Sargeras. Aegwynn saved many blue dragons in that battle, and Arcanus was very likely one of them.

However, judging from the blue dragon's expression, Aegwynn didn't seem to be its life-saving benefactor, but rather a demon who harmed its life.

This is interesting!

But before satisfying his gossip, he decided to fulfill his promise first, "Madam, do you know how to redeem its soul?"
