The Second Empire of Azeroth
#48 - Triple Blood Blade Death
Despite Muradin Bronzebeard's strength, Da'ral Threeblade did not abandon the mission. Since a clever approach was impossible, a direct assault was the only option!
Da'ral Threeblade eased his numb hands, gripped his sword again, and charged towards Muradin Bronzebeard. The flames on Sanguis burned even more fiercely, like a fiery whip. Within this small fortress, the fire whip instantly dominated the interior, continuously spewing flames at Muradin Bronzebeard.
"Ha—"
Muradin Bronzebeard roared, and as his figure swelled, it was covered in a layer of rock.
A good opportunity! Da'ral, seeing Muradin without one of his weapons, immediately cast Wind Walk.
Although Muradin couldn't see Da'ral, he could roughly sense his position. He raised his battleaxe and chopped at Da'ral, who was in the shadows.
"Clang!"
Da'ral was knocked out of stealth.
However, the next second, Da'ral's body rapidly shifted, suddenly becoming four.
Mirror Image!
Muradin was stunned for a moment, quickly pinpointing Da'ral's location, wanting to attack again. But Da'ral once again cast Wind Walk, rushing to the detonator one step ahead.
As Sanguis destroyed the detonator, Muradin's battleaxe slammed into his back.
Da'ral coughed up a mouthful of blood, and Sanguis suddenly erupted in a large burst of flames, obscuring Muradin's vision. When the flames dissipated, Da'ral had disappeared.
Muradin subconsciously looked outside the fortress, only to see a hunched figure releasing a fiery signal into the sky.
Muradin's lips curled slightly, but he quickly retracted it. Then, he roared, "Damn orcs, you won't succeed!"
He leaped out of the fortress, his battleaxe aimed at Da'ral.
Already heavily injured, Da'ral didn't dare to linger in battle, calling for the Blademasters who were holding off the dwarves to retreat towards the bridge.
On the south side of the bridge, Orgrim, seeing Da'ral's signal, immediately swung the Doomhammer: "Warriors of the Horde, charge!"
The waiting orcs roared, charging towards the bridge in droves, attacking the dwarven lines on the other side. The Blademasters hadn't retreated yet, harassing the defending dwarves while dodging the rampaging Muradin.
With the orcish army about to charge, the dwarves desperately turned and fled.
A smile appeared on Da'ral's face, victory—several fireballs descending from the sky solidified his smile!
"Boom!"
Huge fireballs exploded continuously on the bridge, orcs were constantly blown away. Those thrown off the bridge had virtually no chance of survival, and those who fell on the bridge were seriously injured.
Orgrim, about to cross the bridge, was instantly stunned and furious. He abruptly turned and roared, "Gul'dan! Stop those damned spells!"
Gul'dan looked towards the hilltop on the left side of the camp. More than a dozen human mages were constantly conjuring magic. Gul'dan raised his staff, and a bolt of fel energy shot into the sky. Then, a fel meteor streaked across the sky, crashing into the small hilltop on the other side.
"Boom—"
The mages were knocked to the ground. A huge stone golem burning with fel fire slowly stood up, roaring loudly at them.
"Damn it! It's a Doomguard!"
The knowledgeable Dalaran mage reminded his companions again.
But even knowing that, they had no way to deal with this golem!
Just then, a tall figure rushed out, leaping onto the stone golem's back. Enduring the burning fel fire, he thrust his longsword into the stone golem's head. The stone golem shattered, and the tall figure collapsed to the ground.
"John—"
Messner exclaimed, quickly flashing over and helping him up.
John waved his hand, saying weakly, "Don't worry about me, continue casting magic."
Messner nodded vigorously, quickly channeling his mana, continuing to cast Fireball on the orcs on the bridge.
Without the mages' interference, the orcs restarted their advance, about to charge down the Thandol Span. Just then, Muradin picked up his warhammer, leaping to the bridgehead, blocking most of the orcs on the bridge. Muradin in Avatar form was virtually invincible, killing all the orcs who dared to challenge him.
However, some orcs still bypassed him and charged down the bridge, attacking the dwarves.
Da'ral Threeblade, having escaped Muradin's pursuit, immediately ordered the Blademasters to cooperate with the orcish warriors to kill the dwarves. After clearing out the other dwarves, Muradin alone would be much easier to deal with. He didn't believe Muradin could maintain his current state forever; when Muradin fell out of Avatar form, that would be the moment of his demise.
The Blademasters charged towards the fleeing dwarves, but just as they were about to catch up, the dwarves suddenly scattered to both sides of the road. In front of the cleared path, a group of human knights radiating holy light charged like a whirlwind.
The knights charged while casting Holy Light on the Blademasters. Then, they rode close to the Blademasters, their longswords and warhammers shimmering with holy light taking their lives.
Da'ral Threeblade's heart felt like something was clutching it. Out of dozens of Blademasters, only a dozen or so escaped using Wind Walk. What magic did these mysterious cavalrymen use? How could the Blademasters not know to dodge?
Da'ral didn't have time to think, because the cavalry had already charged into the dwarven camp. He quickly cast Wind Walk, fleeing towards the mountains to the east. In his current state, encountering these cavalrymen would mean certain death.
Fleeing far away, Da'ral looked back at the dwarven camp. The knights were slaughtering the orcs like chopping melons and vegetables.
"Damn it! When did humans possess such powerful cavalry?"
"Not long ago!" A voice came from behind.
"Who—" Da'ral abruptly turned around, but only saw a barrage of Arcane Missiles coming at him.
Da'ral immediately cast Wind Walk to escape, but he was a step too slow. The Arcane Missiles shattered his stealth. He immediately cast Mirror Image, trying to confuse the enemy. But at that moment, a huge hand composed of arcane energy grabbed him and his images. An arrow imbued with arcane energy instantly pierced his throat. In the instant before closing his eyes, he saw a young human standing not far away.
That was the person he had always wanted to hunt down, Rogers Keisham!
