The Second Empire of Azeroth
#80 - Apexis Crystal
With the agreement reached, Roger said to the Draenei: "Send someone to act as my guide. I will begin marching towards Shattrath tomorrow. Once I arrive, I will immediately launch an attack. When I reclaim Shattrath, I expect you to be there as well and fulfill your promise to me in person."

The Draenei discussed it and sent a priest to act as a guide. The others quickly disappeared into the tunnels of Auchindoun.
Only then did the Arakkoa inquire, "Honorable guest, I wonder if your promise to us still stands."
Roger said, "Of course, but I need you to make a contribution as well. Track those Orcs and tell me their whereabouts."
The Arakkoa nodded quickly, happy that Roger didn't completely trust the Draenei.
"As you wish!"
The Arakkoa left happily, while the Draenei priest who was left behind looked at Roger with some dissatisfaction. Roger ignored him and tossed the ancient A'gil artifact to the priest, "I think you should know how to use it."
Although spellcasters have different ways of casting spells, the use of magical items is still universal. The Draenei priest summoned an Amani Warhawk and, after mounting it, followed behind the Black Dragon Whelp, leaving Auchindoun.
Roger specifically returned to the Dragonhawk Rider's encampment to have them monitor Auchindoun and the road leading to Shadowmoon Valley, before taking the Draenei priest back to Zangar Marsh the way he came.
Just past Turem, they saw the main force led by Dallas.
The sight of thousands of human soldiers and hundreds of high elf troops brightened the Draenei priest's eyes, but then he frowned, "Shattrath is still occupied by thousands of Orcs and Ogres. These soldiers of yours will never be able to reclaim Shattrath."
"You don't need to worry about reclaiming Shattrath. All you need to do is lead the way for us!"
Roger said indifferently, then landed the Black Dragon Whelp in front of the main force.
The allied forces stopped, and soon Dallas and Alleria arrived. Roger explained the agreement he had reached with the Draenei and the Arakkoa. Dallas frowned and said, "Reclaiming Shattrath is not a problem, but will this affect the pursuit of Talon Bloodweaver?"
"It doesn't matter. It will take Talon Bloodweaver at least four or five days to escape to Shadowmoon Valley, which is enough time for us to reclaim Shattrath," Roger said. "The situation in Draenor is complicated. We are, after all, outsiders. With the help of these natives, it will be much easier to deal with the Orcs."
Dallas weighed it and agreed with Roger's idea.
"Alright! In that case, we will head to Shattrath immediately and take it down as soon as possible."
Although the number of allied forces had lost its advantage after splitting up, Dallas was not worried about failing to capture Shattrath. With Roger, a powerful hero, the Sword of Lothar, a powerful army, and hundreds of elven rangers, dealing with an equal number of Orcs was not a problem at all.
Alleria had no objection to Roger's decision. She only asked about the condition of the Dragonhawk Riders.
The allied forces turned around and spent three days reaching the outskirts of Shattrath City.
What came into view was a ruin, but the scale of the ruins still showed how magnificent the city was before. Many people compared it to the ruins of Stormwind City. Shattrath's area was at least four or five times that of Stormwind, and Shattrath had multi-story buildings with many towers in the city, making the actual usable area even larger.
However, what puzzled everyone was that there didn't seem to be many Orcs in the ruins of Shattrath.
Roger rode the Black Dragon Whelp into the sky and used Far Sight to observe the Orcs inside, only to find that there weren't even a thousand of them. Instead, there were a large number of Ogres inside, as many as a thousand.
Roger thought for a moment. The Horde's invasion of Azeroth would inevitably draw a large number of Orcs. Shattrath was now a ruin, not only without resources but also without strategic value, not worth guarding with too many Orcs. And Shattrath was built on the Ogre's ancient capital, Goria, so it was normal for Ogres to like to occupy it.
Sure enough, Roger discovered that many Ogres were digging for something in the ruins. It was clear that these Ogres wanted to find some ancient artifacts of the Goria Empire.
The Orcs and Ogres in the city had not noticed the arrival of the allied forces. This was a very good opportunity to attack. So Roger sent a signal to the allied forces in the air, then rode the Black Dragon Whelp down.
Arcane Missiles rained down on the Orcs and Ogres around the city walls. The Orcs and Ogres were caught off guard and were immediately thrown into chaos. The allied forces took the opportunity to cross the broken city walls and launched an attack on the Orcs and Ogres in the city.
The Orcs and Ogres wanted to stop the counterattack, but they were quickly interrupted by the rangers' arrows.
Some Ogre mages wanted to cast spells to fight back, but just as they were gathering arcane energy, the Black Dragon Whelp descended from the sky and breathed dragon breath on them. The Ogre mages quickly cast protective spells, but a black sword shot out, easily piercing the protective spells.
Dragon breath followed, burning the Ogre mages to ashes.
Before Goria was established, this was once a city of Arakkoa civilization. After the Arakkoa civil war, the city was turned into ruins, and the Apexis Crystals that remained here were buried underground. The Arakkoa once taught the Ogres arcane arts, and in exchange, the Ogres needed to hand over the Apexis Crystals they found. However, the Ogre leader "Gronnslayer" Gog violated the agreement and used the knowledge learned from the Apexis Crystals to establish the Goria Empire.
Even so, the Ogres still did not get all the Apexis Crystals, and even now they can still dig up a large number of crystals.
Roger didn't know what the knowledge inside the Apexis Crystals was like, but the knowledge that could support a powerful empire should not be bad.
The battle was still going on, and Roger had no time to check these crystals.
After putting away the things, Roger jumped onto the Black Dragon Whelp and soared into the sky again.
With Roger's aerial support, the allied forces quickly occupied the entire Shattrath City. When the army was cleaning up the battlefield, an army composed of Draenei came from the south.
The Draenei did not directly enter Shattrath City, but sent the few Draenei who had reached an agreement with Roger. When they saw the Orc and Ogre corpses all over the ground, they were all surprised and opened their mouths wide.
