The Second Empire of Azeroth
#84 - Grommash Hellscream
Roger walked up to the floating Book of Medivh and discovered that it contained instructions on how to open the Dark Portal. Using Arcane Hand, he reached into the magic and gently turned a page. Sure enough, the next page showed how to close the Dark Portal.
Clearly, Medivh had deliberately recorded this information, a testament to his remaining conscience.
"Thank you, Medivh!"

Following the instructions, Roger raised the Scepter of Sargeras and channeled mana into it.
The Scepter of Sargeras began to shimmer with arcane light, and then a beam of arcane energy shot towards the Dark Portal. Guided by the arcane energy, the Dark Portal slowly closed.
The trembling of the earth lessened somewhat. It seemed that, just like in the historical events, Ner'zhul hadn't opened just one Dark Portal.
However, judging from the current situation, the number of Dark Portals opened by Ner'zhul was not as many as in the historical timeline.
"Rumbleβ"
A loud noise came from the north, and the earth completely stabilized. Roger looked north in surprise. Comparing it with the map, that area should be Hellfire Peninsula, the Dark Portal connecting to Azeroth.
Who blew up the Dark Portal?
Hellfire Peninsula, Dark Portal.
Khadgar quickly stowed away the Skull of Gul'dan, disgustedly wiping the fel energy from his hands. Turning around, he shouted loudly at the attacking orcs: "Orcs, you will not enter Azeroth again!"
"Damn humans!"
An orc chieftain wielding a battle axe roared, "Get out of Draenor! This land doesn't belong to you!"
"Grommash, we must seize the Skull of Gul'dan to reopen the Dark Portal," Kargath Bladefist said.
If Roger were here, he would definitely wonder why the Warsong Clan had come to Hellfire Peninsula.
Before the Dark Portal was opened, the Warsong Clan was the most battle-hardened clan in the Horde. Especially after drinking the blood of demons, the Warsong Clan's brutal nature became even more difficult to restrain. After the Horde defeated the draenei and arakkoa, they had no more enemies, and the orcs began to kill each other. Blackhand, in order to protect his people, drove the relatively insane Warsong, Thunderlord, Bonechewer, Shattered Hand, and Bleeding Hollow clans out of Hellfire Citadel.
After being driven out of Hellfire Citadel, the Warsong Clan returned to their old home in Nagrand and continued their nomadic lifestyle. However, their insane killing spree hadn't changed, and the beasts of Nagrand were slaughtered by the Warsong Clan.
Fortunately, Nagrand possessed powerful primal beasts. Even if the Warsong Clan wanted to hunt a primal beast, it would require a great deal of effort. And so, the Warsong Clan stayed in Nagrand for several years, until Kargath came looking for them.
When Roger recovered Shattrath, the Warsong Clan had already been persuaded by Kargath to head north to Zangar Marsh and return to Hellfire Peninsula, launching a frenzied attack on Hellfire Citadel.
The Alliance forces left behind to guard Hellfire Citadel couldn't resist the Warsong Clan's attacks. In addition, Kargath was familiar with Hellfire Citadel, and soon Hellfire Citadel was breached.
The Alliance forces could only retreat to Honor Hold. Even the Black Dragon Whelps that Roger had left in Hellfire Citadel couldn't be taken away. While retreating, they also sent a distress signal to Turalyon.
Turalyon and the others encountered an attack by Black Dragon Whelps when they headed north to Gorgrond. Soon, they joined forces with the local gronn and defeated Deathwing. To avoid conflict with the gronn, they withdrew from the gronn's territory. Just then, Turalyon received a request for assistance from the Honor Hold army. He immediately had Kurdran and Khadgar return to Honor Hold on griffons to provide support.
After Khadgar arrived at Honor Hold, he received news that the Warsong Clan was heading towards the Dark Portal. Therefore, they headed towards the Dark Portal again. By the time they arrived at the Dark Portal, the Dark Portal was about to fall. Khadgar and Kurdran immediately harassed the Warsong Clan, which stabilized the Dark Portal's defenses.
After defending for two days, the Dark Portal finally couldn't be held any longer. Just as the Warsong Clan was about to break through the defenders' lines, the earth began to tremble, as if an earthquake had occurred. The orcs were surprised and uncertain, not knowing what was happening.
Taking advantage of this opportunity, Khadgar used the Skull of Gul'dan to destroy the Dark Portal. He would rather not return to his homeland than allow the orcs to wreak havoc on Azeroth again.
The earth stabilized, and Grommash once again issued the order to attack. He personally took to the field, heading straight for Khadgar.
Khadgar continuously cast spells, but they were all easily dodged by Grommash. Grommash, with an agility that didn't match his stature, quickly rushed to Khadgar's side, raising Gorehowl to strike at Khadgar.
But how could a mage be so easily killed? Khadgar blinked to a rock, raised his hand, and unleashed a barrage of spells at the Warsong Clan. As the destined successor to the Guardian, Khadgar inherited most of Medivh's legacy. With legendary equipment like the Chicken Leg Staff and Medivh's vast knowledge, Khadgar's strength had increased too much in the past two years.
"Damn it!"
Grommash spat fiercely, thinking of a way to kill Khadgar.
Just then, a human army rushed down the mountain. It was Turalyon leading reinforcements back.
Under Turalyon's leadership, the paladins quickly crushed the orc rear guard.
"Kill!" The human soldiers followed closely behind, quickly squeezing the orcs' space to maneuver.
The Warsong Clan's nomadic lifestyle made them very powerful cavalry. If cavalry wanted to exert their greatest strength, they needed room to maneuver. After the human soldiers squeezed the Warsong Clan's space, the wolves had no room to move and could only stand in place to attack. In this way, the cavalry lost their advantage and became inflexible.
"Are you hiding something from me?" Grommash asked, staring at Kargath.
Kargath chuckled, "I just haven't had time to tell you yet."
Seeing Grommash continue to stare at him, Kargath quickly said, "I'll tell you everything. Teron Gorefiend wants to coerce Ner'zhul into opening a new Dark Portal. This doesn't really concern us, but I learned from a warlock that opening the Dark Portal is a very dangerous thing and could cause a spatial tear. And just now, the earth trembled. I think Ner'zhul must have successfully opened the Dark Portal. If we can't escape Draenor, we may be destroyed along with Draenorβ"
Watching Kargath demonstrate an exploding action, Grommash was furious, "It's all you reckless guys who have turned Draenor into what it is now!"
Although he was reckless and warlike, he still understood many things. However, he wasn't good at persuading others, so he could only manage his own affairs. And after drinking the blood of demons, he couldn't even manage his own affairs, let alone lead others.
Grommash raised his head and looked at the sky. He didn't know when a huge rift had appeared in the sky, and some kind of energy was flowing through the rift. In the flowing energy, a green meteor flashed from time to time.
