This aura is deadly

Some thoughts from a million words ago

This book is almost 1 million words long. After entering mid-September and October, the number of subscriptions for this book has improved, reaching more than 400, which gives me a lot of confidence.

First of all, I would like to thank all new and old book friends for their subscriptions and the two book owners for their rewards. Although I still owe DJ Steve two chapters, I will definitely pay them back...

When I uploaded this book, I set a target of 500 first orders. I didn’t expect it to be a bumpy road. It’s only now that I can see the hope of achieving it. Writing a book is not easy, and persevering is not easy either. Please read it and cherish it...

I would like to reply to some recent readers’ comments on this book, which can be regarded as answering questions. First of all, I want to say that this book has an outline. I can’t say that all the plots are under control, but at least the majority of them are under control. Events and turning points are under control.

First, some readers complained about the protagonist's behavioral logic and ability to judge and associate. This part of the complaint mainly focused on the relationship between Chen Ke and Gold Finger.

The life countdown has indeed given Chen Ke very different and powerful abilities. Under the premise of possessing these abilities, the protagonist still questions and eagerly wants to remove this thing, which really makes people think that he is mentally retarded.

But I think when looking at this issue, you should first get rid of your online reading experience and inertial thinking, and look at this matter from the perspective of an ordinary person.

Just imagine, an ordinary person has lived a stable life for 24 years, and suddenly one day he is thrown into a strange environment, and then finds that he can only live for a few hours. Even though this countdown gives many positive superpowers, this negative reaction I don’t think everyone can accept the buff in a short time, right?

In reality, many people feel like the sky is falling when they get cancer, not to mention that they only have a few hours left to live. The protagonist's logical thinking has always been at the level of an ordinary person, rather than the young white guy Wenlong Aotian who immediately vowed to change the world after traveling through time.

I think there are real time-travelers. Even if they change the world in the future, at least in the first few months, they will still be very embarrassed psychologically. They must have an arc and a process of mental and mental growth, instead of just giving them everything at the beginning. The feeling of a great responsibility coming from man and heaven.

Then there are complaints focused on the protagonist's behavior, that is, although he has time to count down and force him, he still seems to be leisurely and leisurely, and still has time to fall in love.

There is indeed some truth to this complaint. On the one hand, because of my limited writing power, I was unable to write the intense feeling of the movie "The Fury". On the other hand, I did not want to write the protagonist as a funny lunatic. What I pursued was John Wick. G and Jason Bourne's secret agent style.

When I started the book and set it up, I really thought about writing the protagonist as Lao Cui from GTAV, but I gave up later because that kind of character design and the sense of fate in the whole story were different from those of urban ghost stories and SCP Cthulhu. They don't match each other, that's weird. So I gave up.

There is also a misunderstanding of the heroine’s figure. Let me reiterate here...Lucina and Diana are not some King Kong Barbies...

Their physiques are similar to those of fitness internet celebrities, that is, they have relatively low body fat and cannot be said to be thin, but you can't tell anything when they put on clothes. When they take it off, they look very strong. The obvious muscle definition does not mean that they must be bodybuilders. figure. The male protagonist is actually similar.

As for the male protagonist's metaphor for the two girls, Diana is a car and Lucina is a tank. This is understood to mean that Lucina is stronger than Diana, maybe only two or three kilograms heavier than her.

Diana is a typical white European girl, while Lucina is a Latina with brown skin. If you have to make a comparison, you can refer to Han's girlfriend and Don's girlfriend in "The Fast and the Furious".

Then there are some questions from Goldfinger. Some people ask why the protagonist has unlimited murderous power and doesn't use bloody tactics? Is the protagonist’s combat power invincible?

In fact, this is not the case. To put it simply, Chen Ke's battle is a battle that exceeds the upper limit. Against enemies of the same level, Chen Ke can use the opponent's murderous intent to directly use his biggest moves, and the upper limit of his combat power will be sustained instantly. Release and kill the opponent directly.

But if the enemy is too powerful and the damage it can withstand exceeds Chen Ke's upper limit of combat power, using a game metaphor, his output limit cannot reach the threshold of this dungeon, then Chen Ke will have no choice but to suffer.

Those who can be killed don't need to exchange blood at all, because they will be killed instantly at the beginning. There is no use exchanging blood for a team that can't be defeated, it can't be defeated at all. The battle scenes will still have concrete descriptions of melee action, because I don’t really like the kind of combat writing method that shouts the name of a special move and then describes the power of "step through the void, and the air wave will cut off the mountain top".

The biggest controversy is the plot structure. I have read many comments about this book. In addition to "the protagonist is too mentally retarded", the second most common one is "the main plot and branch plots are mixed together and I can't understand what is written J8".

How should I put it... This is a book about Cthulhu and SCP. Modern new ghost stories also want this kind of foggy feeling. This writing method creates this mysterious and weird atmosphere, such as the 2006 Death World , if I had given you popular science about "death world", "timeline settings" and "gods and dependents" before that copy, would you still think the story was weird?

I tried my best to avoid writing this book as "the protagonist upgrades all the way and chops the gods into scum", because that would be too new and weird. I am not a Cthulhu fundamentalist, and this book is not a serious Cthulhu novel, but the atmosphere still needs to be maintained. I am already very satisfied with the combination of online novels and Cthulhu elements. Be careful.

The third most criticized thing is the protagonist’s personality and goals. Some people say that the protagonist repeatedly jumps between the Madonna who saves people and the killer who has no feelings, and they don't know what he wants. I think I need to explain this.

Heroes sometimes behave in a conciliatory manner, and villains sometimes feel pity. Human beings are very complex things. It does not mean that good people are without flaws, and bad people are always bad for no reason.

The protagonist is nice to certain people because he has interacted with those people and become familiar with them, such as Diana and others. In a murder contract, he could pull the trigger without changing his mind because he didn't know the other person at all, so he didn't regard the target as a human being, just a target.

The prototype of the protagonist has always been an anti-hero. Under the pressure of the countdown to life, it is impossible to have any long-term goals. What he always wants is nothing more than two things: to extend his life and become normal. Of course things will definitely be different later on, he will complete his arc and become the person he has to be, and the same goes for the rest of the supporting cast.

Finally, there are some spoilers for the upcoming plot.

The Witch's inheritance will be used in this volume. As for who it is given to, you can take a guess.

Soon, a brand new dungeon will be opened, about the same length as Old Survivors, with the theme of "Bloodborne Curse".

Volume three will feature the biggest battle of the book so far.

Superman will also appear in this volume.
