Transmigrated as the Crown Prince
Chapter 526 Molotov
After a busy day's work, Molotov dragged his tired body out of the building.
When he walked to the car parked at the door, Molotov did not sit in directly as usual, but turned to look at the magnificent Ministry of Foreign Affairs building.
What is a little ironic or should I say funny is that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building was built according to the design of the German Crown Prince. The German Crown Prince, who visited the Soviet Union for the first time more than ten years ago, gave eight architectural drafts as a gift to Comrade Stalin. Comrade Stalin fell in love with these drawings at first sight and couldn't put them down, and construction started soon after.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs building was the first to be started and completed. The entire building is 172 meters high and has 27 floors. The architectural style of the building shows strong ideological characteristics. Combining elements of the Neo-Renaissance, Neoclassicism and Empire styles, the designers intentionally designed the building shape into a stepped shape to set off the rising trend of the central tower. This kind of design shows a restrained and calm form, ignoring the perspective effect of people looking up at the building from the ground. Coupled with the prominent design of vertical elements, when looking up, people feel that this building is extremely powerful!
In addition, Moscow University, Leningrad Hotel, Model Worker Apartments, Ministry of Heavy Industry Building, Ukraine Hotel, and Cultural Personnel Apartments have been built one after another.
He didn't think much about it on weekdays, but today it suddenly occurred to him that this was not a method used by the German Crown Prince to consume the Soviet Union's national power, right? If we hadn't gone all out to build these large buildings, how many tanks, aircraft, and cannons could have been built with the money and resources saved?
It would be terrible if that were the case!
How old was Crown Prince Yannik at that time, and he was planning to attack the Soviet Union in the future? !
In addition to the buildings known as the "Seven Sisters", there is also a very large building with a height of more than 400 meters called the Soviet Palace.
Molotov also saw the drawings and had to admit that it was a work of art that perfectly combined classicism and skyscrapers. Once completed, it will be the tallest building in the world, more than 90 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower, and even shorter than the Empire State Building in the United States.
At its top, the 75-meter-tall Lenin sculpture stands facing the wind, dwarfing the 46-meter Statue of Liberty and the 38-meter Jesus of Rio. At the bottom of the building is a venue for tens of thousands of people, with a capacity of 21,000 seats. If the palace is built, it will replace the Kremlin as the center of Soviet power. It will also be the Soviet Tower of Babel with three laurels - the tallest building in the world and the largest single building in the world. A monolithic building with the tallest sculpture in the world.
However, work on this majestic building, which was already one-fifth complete, was halted last year. Perhaps Comrade Stalin also realized that all this was a German conspiracy, or perhaps it was just due to simple financial pressure. Of course, even if Comrade Stalin found out that he had been deceived by the Germans, he would not be able to let others know.
Shaking his head mockingly, Molotov got into the car.
According to Molotov's habit, the driver did not drive the car directly home, but came to a small park near his home.
Molotov took a newspaper from the newsstand at the entrance of the park and handed the stall owner a coin.
Sitting on a chair in the park, flipping through the newspaper casually, Molotov couldn't help but marvel at Germany's intelligence capabilities. This stall owner has been selling newspapers here for several years. Not long ago, he learned that this stall owner turned out to be a German spy. This guy's words and deeds are clearly that of a pure Russian, and he doesn't know when and why he became a German spy.
If you have any important information, write it down on paper, stuff it into a special coin, and give it to the newspaper seller. Today's intelligence is that the Soviet Union and the United States may join forces to deal with Germany. However, Molotov suspected that Crown Prince Yannik had already anticipated this situation, and might have prepared several countermeasures.
After staying for half an hour, Molotov left the park and returned home. In fact, he didn't really want to go home. Since his daughter Svetlana was secretly taken to Germany, he has truly become a "lonely old man." It feels lonely when I'm alone in a home where every step I take is echoed.
After mechanically finishing the dinner prepared by the nanny in the kitchen, Molotov walked into the study, sat doing nothing for a while, then got up and went to the world map hanging on the wall.
He had a hunch that the Americans would probably agree to support or sell various supplies to the Soviet Union. After all, they only need to spend some money to make the Soviet Union and Germany bleed and fight, so why not do it.
But which route will Americans choose?
In the original time and space during World War II, the United States had five routes to support the Soviet Union.
The Arctic Ocean routes, after being concentrated at the eastern seaports of the United States, set off together, passing through Iceland, crossing the northern part of Scandinavia, and arriving at the Soviet Arctic Ocean port of Murmansk. This line accounts for 7% of the total aid.
The Black Sea route starts from Egypt, goes directly north, passes through the neutral country of Turkey, enters the Black Sea, and reaches the Soviet Black Sea port of Novorossiysk. The Black Sea route only began transporting materials after the Soviet Union took control of the Black Sea in 1945, so it only transported 680,000 tons, accounting for 9% of the total transportation volume of the United States.
Pacific route, passing through the North Pacific to land in the Siberian region of the Soviet Union, and then transported to the European region of the Soviet Union via the Trans-Siberian Railway. The supplies transported by this line accounted for 1% of the total aid provided to the Soviet Union by the United States, Britain and other allies.
The Arctic route has been transported since 1942, but it can only be transported after the Arctic Ocean in the northern Soviet Union thaws in the summer. The transportation volume is very small. By the end of the war, only 450,000 tons were transported, accounting for 5% of the total volume.
Iran line. It took the Indian Ocean, entered the Persian Gulf, came ashore in Iran, and was transported from Iran to the Soviet Union. This line accounted for 8% of the total Allied aid to the Soviet Union.
Now that Iceland and Greenland in the North Atlantic have been occupied by German troops, it is almost impossible for the United States to take the Arctic Ocean route. The Black Sea route and the Iran route are also completely under the control of the German army; as for the Arctic route, the Germans do not need to take care of it. The bad weather alone is a huge trouble.
That leaves only the Pacific route.
Germany seems to have no control over the Pacific.
Even if the Germans occupy Australia, it is still 7,000 to 8,000 kilometers away from this route. Aircraft cannot be counted on and can only be blocked by surface ships or underwater submarines. Maybe the Pacific Ocean will become the "wolf pack" of the German navy. Heaven.
Then he turned his attention to the Soviet Union. I can't help but think of what Yannik said last time that he wanted to divide the Soviet Union into more than a dozen countries. He also said that one of the countries would be allocated to him. He wanted to be emperor, president, or general secretary, whatever he wanted.
Thinking of this, Molotov stretched out his hand, lightly traced his fingers across the Soviet Union on the map, and sighed deeply.
