Two Worlds: I studied at Hogwarts
#11 - The Sorting Hat's Tough Decision
Munn had never worn such a dirty, tattered hat. Even when sleeping under bridges, he felt the hats of those street wanderers were cleaner than the one on his head.
While enduring the musty odor emanating from the hat, a voice suddenly echoed in Munn's ear.
"Hmm, you're quite peculiar ~"
Munn's eyes darted to both sides. Everyone was staring intently at him. He realized this voice seemed to be audible only to him.
"Just now, it was merely choosing between Slytherin and Gryffindor, but you..."
"I can see you're very brave... venturing out alone... and freeloading, very impressive."

"Your practical skills are also very strong... guarding such a large forest, and very honest."
"Your ambition isn't small either, actually wanting to learn all the magic."
"Alright, child, it seems you could fit into any house except Ravenclaw, this is truly difficult."
Munn felt the Sorting Hat was judging him based on his past deeds. However, his little ambitions were deeply hidden within his heart, how could they be discovered?
Munn didn't keep the Sorting Hat waiting too long. Knowing he was suitable for three houses, he made a decisive choice.
"Then ~ Gryffindor."
Munn didn't know what the other houses were like, but at the Gryffindor long table, he had already received concerned gazes from several people, and then there were his hands, which had lost their calluses.
"That's right, that's how it should be, choices sometimes outweigh everything, child!"
The Sorting Hat gave Munn an encouraging response, then loudly announced in the hall.
"Then ~ Gryffindor!"
Munn also received cheers and applause. Although most of the people at the long table were strangers, he had a feeling of finding his own kind.
"Come sit here, I knew you'd be with me."
Harry waved to him. Munn smiled his thanks and sat next to him.
"Where did you go just now? We couldn't find you on the boat, so we had to let..."
Harry said, looking at Hermione sitting across from him. To be honest, he didn't have much affection for this arrogant little girl.
"Hagrid talked to me for a while just now, then I got on Malfoy's boat."
Upon hearing this, Harry turned to look at Malfoy sitting at the Slytherin table.
"You didn't have a conflict, did you? I mean, Ron's rat just scared them badly."
After hearing Harry's words, Munn finally understood why Malfoy had misunderstood him. It turned out that the ones fighting in the carriage were them.
"Conflict, of course not."
While Munn and Harry were talking, the Sorting Hat had also sorted Ron into Gryffindor, and he sat on Harry's other side.
The last student was sorted into Slytherin, and then Professor McGonagall left with the Sorting Hat.
At this time, Dumbledore stood up. Seeing the cheerful smile on his wrinkled face, one could tell he was very happy.
"Welcome everyone to Hogwarts to begin a new school year. Before the banquet begins, I would like to say a few words."
Munn's hands were constantly controlling Bouncer, because the silverware on the table was really too shiny, which was simply attracting it to commit crimes.
Hearing that Dumbledore still had things to say, Munn hoped the speech wouldn't be too long. Only when the banquet started, in the chaotic situation, would Bouncer be less noticeable.
"That is: Nitwit, Blubber, Oddment, Tweak, thank you everyone!"
These were the most pleasant words Munn had heard tonight, but he couldn't applaud.
However, no one noticed him, because all kinds of delicacies had already appeared on the table.
Munn had never seen so much food. Even the zoo's staff canteen wouldn't prepare so much at once, especially some of the meat dishes, which looked very appetizing.
Taking advantage of Munn's distraction, Bouncer had already crawled out of his pocket. It first jumped onto the table and set its sights on a silver fork beside Munn's hand.
It quickly crawled over and put the silver fork into the pocket in front of its little belly, but very quickly, the silver fork reappeared on the table.
Bouncer opened its little pocket, curiously looked inside, then looked up at the silver fork, looking back and forth several times before confirming that it was the same fork.
It tried several more times in disbelief, including those golden plates, but none were successful.
"The cutlery here has been enchanted, it can't be taken away, but as a prefect, I still have to remind you that treating a Niffler as a pet is not a good choice."
The wizard sitting across from Munn, who also had red hair, and Hermione next to him, had witnessed all of Bouncer's little actions just now.
"I didn't know it was a Niffler at first. Hagrid even reminded me to get a certificate from the head of house." Munn quickly explained.
"Of course, that's necessary, Professor McGonagall pays great attention to school rules, but don't worry, she cares a lot about the students in her own house."
The wizard who claimed to be a prefect then talked with Hermione about learning Transfiguration. Munn couldn't get a word in at all, because he had only bought those textbooks yesterday.
After trying more than a dozen times, Bouncer finally recognized reality and sat listlessly on the table.
Munn carefully held it in his lap, then forked a small piece of steak for it. Watching Bouncer start eating, Munn also felt relieved and listened to the conversation of the people at the table.
A ghost who called himself Sir Nicholas happened to float to the table. Many people greeted him, and he even lifted his head open.
Munn actually had a good impression of this ghost, because his clothes looked like the aristocratic attire that the old people in Xilin Town often talked about.
"Very happy to meet you, Sir Nicholas."
Munn looked at the ghost who only showed his head on the plate and greeted him very politely.
"Look, this is the etiquette that a nobleman should have, you all have to learn from him, don't call him Headless Nick anymore."
The ghost said, reaching out his hand to shake Munn's.
However, Munn immediately withdrew his hand after touching the other person.
He had never felt such a cold feeling, it was colder than him fishing in the river in winter.
"Oh, maybe it doesn't feel very good, but it doesn't matter, the great Sir Nicholas offers his respects here."
The ghost said, bowing to Munn, then his head drooped down again, Munn was startled by this scene.
The people around laughed, Sir Nicholas also left happily, Munn's eyes followed his figure to the direction of the professors.
Professor McGonagall was talking to Dumbledore at the long table, and they were also looking over here from time to time. Munn felt they should be looking at Harry, after all, this boy seemed to be the focus everywhere.
Munn retracted his gaze and concentrated on dealing with the delicacies on the table, and by the way, gave Bouncer a small piece of lamb chop.
At this time, Harry suddenly covered his head and let out a scream, then asked about the name of a certain professor.
Munn also listened carefully as the prefect explained that it was Professor Quirrell and Professor Snape who taught Potions.
Munn found that the Professor Snape that Harry was paying attention to was the person with the longest wizarding code, he was half a grid taller than Professor McGonagall.
Seeing that this professor was still very young, Munn knew that the strength of a wizard did not seem to have a necessary relationship with age.
When the banquet ended that night, after all the food disappeared, Dumbledore stood up again and announced a few things.
The Forbidden Forest cannot be entered.
Magic cannot be cast in the corridors.
Quidditch tryouts applications.
The corridor to the right on the fourth floor cannot be entered either.
Munn deeply engraved the forbidden things in his mind. He knew that the most important thing for him now was to learn magic, not to explore the castle.
