A day at Hogwarts

Chapter 395 You decide for yourself

A 1900-year-old Roman Colosseum is a weathered historical monument in the eyes of Muggles, but wizards will see it as good as new when they enter.

This is a comprehensive venue where conferences can be held. On weekends, wizards will hold a flea market for wizards. Wizards from northern Italy and western Austria will come here to sell things.

Charles said to Dumbledore: "What I like most about Italy is the protection and use of cultural relics and monuments by wizards, which allows us to see the historical treasures left over from two thousand years ago."

Now Dumbledore is wearing a light golden robe and a tall and pointed wizard hat, looking much more majestic than in Hogwarts.

Today is the day of the International Confederation of Wizards' Conference. He attended as the president, and his whole temperament has changed.

Along the way, wizards greeted Dumbledore after seeing him, and he also greeted him politely. When he saw old friends, he chatted with them and introduced the two young people behind him.

When they arrived at the president's lounge, Dumbledore asked Charles, "Aren't you nervous?"

Charles shrugged and said, "I'm just here to eat and drink at public expense. What's there to be nervous about?"

Percy, who was standing by, was not so relaxed. Although there were only four of them and a staff member in the lounge, he still sat upright, with a self-confident and calm expression on his face, as if he was wearing a mask.

The staff brought the schedule for today's meeting, and Dumbledore looked through it and thought there was no problem.

Not long after, Fudge came with several officials from the British Ministry of Magic. As soon as he saw Percy, he began to praise and compliment him non-stop, making Percy's face and hair red with excitement.

Especially when Charles said that the British representative would not speak himself but Percy on stage, Fudge's enthusiasm for him was raised to a higher level, and he booked a box with Charles to treat Percy to dinner when he returned.

Fudge chatted with Dumbledore for a few words and left, taking Percy and Charles to the venue at the same time.

Halfway, Charles found an excuse and came to the public lounge area.

Dumbledore passed by on his way to a meeting and saw Charles holding an affogato coffee in one hand and Sicilian cheese rolls, Italian almond cookies, meringues, Mandua shortbread, cheese lasagna and other snacks in the other.

After the meeting, Fudge passed by with officials from the Ministry of Magic and saw Charles drinking a cup of cappuccino. Several Italian witch aunts kept feeding him snacks such as Naples cream shell shortbread, soft Tuscan biscuits, lemon icing cookies, honey ball cookies, chocolate pistachio shortbread and other snacks.

Fudge was a little surprised and continued to lead people away thoughtfully.

After a while, Dumbledore passed by and shook his head with some laughter and tears. It seemed that Charles really came to eat and drink at public expense.

After a long time, Charles came to Dumbledore's lounge with a burp, and Fudge and others were about to leave.

Fudge asked Charles with a smile: "Why didn't you go to the meeting?"

Charles also smiled and replied: "The Italian witches are so enthusiastic. I didn't realize how much time had passed while chatting, and suddenly I found that today's meeting was over."

Fudge said with a look of reminiscing about the past: "Yes, there is plenty of sunshine around the Mediterranean, and the witches here are very enthusiastic."

He and Dumbledore said a few more meaningless words and left.

Percy sat on the sofa, looking very nervous.

As soon as Charles sat down, he muttered: "I messed up just now. I seemed to have mispronounced a few words, and my tie was crooked..."

Charles just smiled and ignored him. It's good to get used to such a big scene.

Dumbledore asked while reading the documents: "Charles, why didn't you attend the meeting just now?"

He knew Charles better than Fudge, so he would not believe the nonsense that he forgot to chat.

Charles glanced at Percy who was still recalling his mistakes, and said seriously: "Professor, some things don't need to be explained so clearly, right?"

Dumbledore just smiled and didn't say anything, and continued to read the documents.

Percy was also listening to the conversation between the two people and immediately asked: "What's the matter? Did you know I would be embarrassed?"

Dumbledore said to him: "Percy, you performed very well today. Fudge didn't do so well when he spoke at the conference for the first time."

"Charles is talking about something else."

"Charles, tell Percy your thoughts."

Percy felt relieved, as long as he didn't get into trouble.

Charles said to Percy: "It seems that our minister intends to pull you into his camp."

Just now, Fudge's enthusiasm for Percy was a little too much, and Charles and Dumbledore saw his intention at a glance.

Percy asked in surprise: "What camp?"

Charles replied: "It's the camp headed by the minister."

Percy didn't react for a while and asked: "What's the problem with this?"

He knew a lot about the Ministry of Magic, and naturally knew that there were some small groups among the officials, and he was not interested in things like Mr. Weasley's free parties.

Percy was very happy that Fudge valued him, and was even more excited about his solicitation. He did not think there was anything wrong.

"It's just a small problem." Charles shook his head slightly, "It's just that the Minister is a little worried about Professor Dumbledore. He is afraid that the position of Minister will be replaced by someone else when he wakes up at dawn, so he wants to gather people."

Percy understood and asked in surprise: "Professor Dumbledore, do you want to be the Minister of Magic?"

Dumbledore shrugged and said, "I don't have that much time. I still have two archives to play, but the Minister doesn't believe me and always thinks I'm going to gather a group of people to overthrow the Ministry of Magic."

Percy has always respected Dumbledore and regarded him as a role model. Fudge also regarded him as a role model. Now that he knows that the two are actually hostile to each other, his mind is suddenly confused.

"But..." Percy remembered something, "I heard that you once formed a secret group?"

Dumbledore nodded and said, "Yes, at that time I established the Order of the Phoenix to fight Voldemort. There were many excellent wizards, including your uncle Fabian and Gideon Prewett brothers."

Percy was shocked when he heard Voldemort's name, and finally an incredible expression appeared on his face when he heard the names of the two deceased uncles.

Dumbledore told Percy the details of what happened that year, and Percy listened very carefully.

Percy heard his parents mention that his two uncles were killed by Voldemort's gang, but he didn't know the details.

The battle between wizards didn't last long, so it was difficult to judge the details. Dumbledore only knew the details when he interrogated the Death Eaters later.

Percy sighed deeply after listening to this, thinking that he should have a good talk with his parents after the holiday.

Dumbledore said frankly: "Now that Voldemort is back, all the Death Eaters in Azkaban have escaped, so I plan to reassemble the Order of the Phoenix."

Percy's eyes widened, and he pursed his lips before saying: "This is impossible."

Dumbledore said helplessly: "Our minister also said so. He thought that the Death Eaters' escape was only done by other escaped Death Eaters, and he didn't believe that Voldemort had returned."

Percy's hands trembled a little, and he turned to Charles and asked: "Do you believe it?"

Charles replied: "It doesn't matter to you whether I believe it or not. What matters is whether you are willing to believe it yourself."

Percy was silent for a moment, and finally decided not to delve into this matter. He asked seriously: "Charles, have you also joined the Order of the Phoenix? Do you want to persuade me to join?"

Charles shook his head and said: "I am not interested in the Order of the Phoenix. I don't have so much time to spend on it. It's up to you to join it."

Dumbledore nodded.
