Apostle of Cthulhu

Chapter 76 Magic

"Dead bee?" Beverly squatted down and picked up the thing that attracted her attention from the ground.

It was a bee of normal size. The pattern wasn't that pretty, and its wings had been damaged to the point where it couldn't be seen directly.

Beverly carefully placed the bee body on the grass aside, touched the pocket watch on her chest, and felt a vague premonition rising in her heart.

Going forward, there is a busy main road ahead. If it is late at night, there may not be many passers-by, making it a perfect crime spot!

Gunfire erupted in the distance, but Beverly didn't care because the turf war between gangs had nothing to do with her. She only cared about everything related to the "unknown".

Just when she was about to take a step forward and go to the Seaton Bar to see if she could try her luck, a familiar voice sounded behind her, "What a coincidence, Miss Beverly."

Beverly rolled her eyes and turned around, "Si Wei, what's the matter?"

"I'm just curious about what you are doing," Si Wei walked up and glanced at the palm of her hand, "Well, a dead bee with a normal size is really puzzling."

"What's there to be confused about?" Beverly said, "Life is dying every day. It's just a bee. It can't escape its fate."

Si Wei walked up to her and said, "Well... that's very good. I agree with you, but I'm still very curious about your bee. Do you mind giving me its body?"

It was just the body of a bee, and Beverly didn't care. She handed it into Si Wei's hand and said, "Goodbye, idler!"

Watching Beverly in the distance, Si Wei's eyes gradually turned cold as he looked at the bee corpse.

There was something on the bee's body that only he could see.

It was a string of golden words, just like the words he saw in the blood of people whose SAN value had reached zero, or was about to reach zero.

If this ability is communicated between living creatures, it means that this does not just mean that the SAN value has returned to zero, but it may also mean that the deceased has seen some extraordinary things before! For example...the huge group of bees greedily searching for their prey!

"It seems that that guy must have passed by here once... In this case, this should be the scene of a murder. I really should have some interactions with people from the police station, so that I can retrieve some files."

Not all police departments in all places know Siwei. The police department in Manburg City has never heard of Siwei's name. The only R'lyeh cultural researcher who has an impression is Curtis Brandt. Not even the CTHULHU expedition team knew.

However, Si Wei secretly marked all the victimized locations on the map, and the scope of the opponent's activities gradually became clear.

In Siwei's research, the other party would not commit murder twice in a row in the same neighborhood. This may be a sense of ritual, but it is undoubtedly a fact.

Theoretically speaking, Si Wei could draw this guy's route map, and if possible, he could use these patterns to determine where the perpetrator would kill next!

After all, he is a missionary, and there is a possibility that that guy follows certain rules. After all, there are spiritual rituals in this world that can change inspiration!

——

October 24, exactly 3:27 in the afternoon, at the end of Street 37 in Port Manburg.

Bell arrived at this place as promised. At the end of the street was the vast North Sea, with steamships floating on the calm sea, making melodious whistles.

The lighthouse in Manburg Harbor is not grand, but it still has a sense of age. The mottled walls and moss clinging to the surface of the lighthouse are depressing.

A black magician setting up a stall stood at the end and had been waiting for a long time.

"This handsome gentleman!" Gunrick trotted up to Bell and gave a non-standard hat-off salute with a smile on his face. "Do you want to come and see my magic show?"

Bell glanced at the magic props on his table and basically guessed the types of magic he could perform, and suddenly lost all interest.

However, since I am here for an appointment, anyone who appears here at this moment may be the guy who wants to meet with me!

"A magic show..." Bell pretended to think for a moment and replied, "Okay, I can take a look."

Gunric smiled even more, led Bell to his wooden table, and covered the table with a layer of black cloth.

"Guess what magic I'm going to do?" Gunrick said this as if he had no idea.

Bell's expression remained unchanged and he replied very normally: "How can I possibly know what magic you want to perform before you take out the props you need to perform?"

"If I say the only props I need to use are this table and this piece of black cloth, what do you think I'm going to perform?"

This was the first time that this kind of question was asked of Bell. Seeing that the other party was so persistent in pursuing him, he had to mobilize his brain cells and start thinking about possible answers.

"Perhaps... you want this table to disappear?"

Bell didn't think this was the answer. After all, the other party was so pretentious. If the magic was really that simple and crude, it would lose its meaning and would be superfluous.

As expected, Gondrick shook his head and slapped one hand on the table, "I will not make this table disappear, because none of us can live without this table."

Hearing this, Bell felt that something was wrong, "What do you mean?"

"Please start to imagine!" Gunrick's voice suddenly rose, and at the same time, he pressed the black tablecloth with both hands, his face serious, "This tablecloth is some kind of cover, and there is something between the table and the tablecloth."

Bell focused his attention on the tablecloth, and he suddenly felt something strange, but he couldn't say it because he couldn't concentrate.

There is something? What is there? Between the table and the tablecloth? Could it be a set of bowls and chopsticks?

Gunrick didn't ask, and Bell didn't answer. The two remained in a stalemate after Gunrick's words fell. If someone else saw it at this moment, they would probably think that two crazy people were doing something mysterious.

However! After a few seconds, the tablecloth actually had a slight strange bulge!

Bell saw with his own eyes that the bulge was gradually getting bigger... and even outlined a familiar shape.

"Stop!" Gunrick suddenly shouted, lifted the black tablecloth, and revealed what was under the tablecloth.

That thing made Bell's pupils dilate in an instant, and he subconsciously slapped his chest!

Because that thing... was his vigilante pendant!
