"Ahem, ahem, ahem..."

Snape choked on the glass of wine because he drank too quickly.

He didn't seem to drink much. Sherlock had never seen him touch a glass of wine, even fruit wine, at any Hogwarts dinner or teacher's party.

After drinking this glass of whiskey, his pale face had an abnormal blush.

Sherlock didn't drink as quickly as he did, but took small sips.

Snape needed to numb himself with alcohol now, so he had to stay sober.

"I deserve it." Snape sniffed and said in a low voice.

"She was so smart that she knew I didn't deserve to be forgiven. Later events proved that she was right. I became that man's subordinate right after graduation, was given the Dark Mark, and became his die-hard believer."

Sherlock didn't speak. He knew that Snape didn't need someone to communicate with him now, but a listener.

Snape picked up the bottle, his hands trembling as he poured wine into his glass, and a lot of it was spilled on the table.

"She was right. She should have seen through me. In the fourth grade, I tried to pull her and make her the same as me. It was not enough for me to fall, I wanted to jump into the abyss with her."

"When I knew that Lily and Potter were married, I really hated him, and I also hated her a little. She knew clearly what Black and his people had done to me at school. I hated her for being so magnanimous, hated her for not being nostalgic for our previous relationship, and hated her for not choosing such a bastard even if she didn't choose me."

"When I was under that man's command, I told them that I had forgotten Lily a long time ago. I said there were many women in the world who were better than her. But I was actually thinking about how to catch Potter, catch him, and torture him a thousand times more than he tortured me. A kind person like Lily would definitely speak up to plead for him. As long as she spoke... as long as she spoke, I could generously let him go..."

After drinking twice the strength of the liquor, Snape was already drunk. The alcohol paralyzed his nerves, but made the feelings he had been hiding in his heart even stronger.

His facial features were twisted, and he had never shown such a sad expression in Hogwarts. Tears flowed from his eyes again, and he held his head and cried bitterly.

"Because... because I still love her! I can't forget her... I love her..."

Sherlock stared at Snape and thought of the first time he saw him recalling the movie commentaries in his previous life when he first came to Hogwarts, whether he judged him as a good person or a bad person.

Now he might be able to see it a little more clearly.

If Lily didn't exist at the beginning, or even if Lily didn't die in the end, Snape would be a complete villain.

Since he entered Slytherin, he has been hanging out with students who tend to be pure-blooded. In the fourth grade, he studied dark magic and kept in touch with Lucius Malfoy, a bastard who became a Death Eater after graduation.

Lily saw him clearly, and finally because of the fuse of the word "mudblood", she gave up on Snape completely, knowing that if she continued to be with someone like Snape, there would be absolutely no good results.

Snape did indeed degenerate to the extreme after that. He joined the Death Eaters immediately after graduation, was branded with the Dark Mark, became a die-hard believer of that person, and entered the core circle of the Death Eaters in less than a year.

He was quickly accepted in such an organization and regarded as one of Voldemort's own by extreme terrorists like Voldemort. It is conceivable what he did during the time he became a Death Eater.

If things continued to develop like this, Snape might become a person like Lucius Malfoy in the future, and perhaps he would be more loyal to Voldemort than Malfoy.

But people are complicated. The appearance of the savior prophecy and Lily's death became an important node in the transformation of Snape's fate.

Snape's love for Lily has never changed, but Sherlock still can't understand why he loves Lily so much, and after turning to Dumbledore and becoming a professor at Hogwarts, he would show such a bad attitude towards the son of the person he loves most.

Is it really just because Harry's last name is Potter?

Is it really just because he is a Gryffindor?

Seeing Snape drunk now, Sherlock tried to see if he could get any answers.

"Since you love her so much, why are you so harsh on Harry? Just because he is James' son?"

Snape held the bottle, buried his face in his elbows, and said with a sob.

"Dumbledore and I have an agreement... He said that the man just lost his power and will definitely come back... When he comes back, Harry will be his main target... I must show hatred for Harry, only in this way, when the man comes back... I can continue to gain his trust and lurk around him..."

"He is Lily's child... I don't want him to be in danger... Lily died for him... So I have to protect him... Protect him... I can't let Lily be disappointed in me again..."

His voice became lower and lower, until he stopped talking completely and fell asleep on the table.

Snape's drinking capacity was very poor. After two drinks, he was already drunk and unconscious.

After listening to his story, Sherlock silently drank the wine in his glass. Now he finally understood why Snape had such a bad attitude towards Harry. Dumbledore knew it in his heart and did not do anything about it. Intervene more.

It turned out that they had already arranged that when Voldemort came back, Snape would become a senior spy within the Death Eaters to steal information for Dumbledore.

Looking at Snape lying on the table, Sherlock's eyes were a little complicated, because Snape's behavior was very complicated, but his purpose was very pure.

Finally, he let out a long sigh, called the bar owner over, and asked him to help carry Snape to a guest room on the second floor.

Sherlock himself stayed alone on the first floor for a while, as if planning something. It was almost three o'clock in the morning before he went back to his room to rest.

The night passed, and at ten o'clock the next morning, when Snape walked down from the second floor of the bar, Sherlock was sitting by the window on the first floor eating bread.

"Would you like some too? Let's order a glass of hot milk. You drank a lot last night."

Snape sat opposite him, and Sherlock ordered a breakfast for him as well.

"What did I say to you last night?"

Snape's face became as gloomy and numb as when he was in Hogwarts, and his eyes were empty, like an emotionless body.

Sherlock said calmly.

"I just talked about some things in your past. I didn't say anything. Let's eat something first."

The two of them ate breakfast in silence, and no one took the initiative to speak.

It wasn't until he finished eating that Sherlock looked at Snape and asked with a serious expression.

"So do you have any other ideas now?"

Snape looked deeply out the window at the large chimney that was emitting black smoke into the sky, and he spoke softly.

"She refuses to forgive me, but I want to save her."

Sherlock seemed to have expected that he would say such words. He was not surprised and just continued to ask.

"Then what? Do you have a plan? How do you want to save me? In what way?"

Snape was silent. The meeting between him and Lily last night was enough to prove that Lily would not believe a word he said, nor would she listen to him do anything.

He could take her away by force, but then what? What to do then?

In order to keep her by his side, give her a love potion?

Snape couldn't do such a disgusting thing. He loved Lily as a person, not her body. If he really had such thoughts, he could have done it when he was a student at Hogwarts. matter.

What if you don't?

Defeat Voldemort in this world?

This would also save Lily's life from danger, but if Voldemort is really so easy to defeat, can he still be called the Dark Lord of the wizarding world?

Sherlock also saw Snape's confusion and knew that he had no clue about saving Lily, so he tapped the table with his knuckles to draw Snape's attention.

"What can I do to help you?"

Snape stared at Sherlock.

"What do you mean?"

"Let's make a simple agreement." Sherlock and Snape looked at each other. "It's now 77 years, and there are still three years until the prophecy of the savior appears. I only need two years. If within two years we If you don't find a way to return to the correct timeline, then I will do my best to help you change the original history and let Lily survive."

Snape looked at the locket still around Sherlock's neck and knew that it was that thing that brought them back here.

"Time can only be turned back. There has never been a converter that can go to the future."

Sherlock looked out the window. This gray city made people feel depressed just by looking at it.

"I know that the possibility of being able to go back is very low, basically zero. But there are some things that you always have to try. Just like you know that the possibility of saving Lily is basically zero, but you also Wouldn’t it be the same if you wanted to give it a try?”

Snape fell into silence. He seemed to be thinking about Sherlock's words, but he didn't know what else he could do except agree to him.

Sherlock didn't urge him, he just looked at the gloomy sky quietly, waiting for Snape's answer.

After a long time, Snape spoke slowly.

"What are you going to do in the next two years?"

Sherlock knew that he had actually agreed, and he stood up from his chair.

"We don't have any other plans yet, but we should find a place to stay now."
